To ask if my boyfriend doing this last night is ‘normal’?

Helenaslide · Today 15:45

I was having a bath last night and he came in and used the loo (no.2). I shouted and asked what he was playing at and he said he has always done this with partners and vice versa as have plenty of people he knows. He stayed for a couple of minutes until he had finished and left laughing.

For context - together 4 months, he was staying at mine last night.

He has said he won’t do it again but I feel a bit humiliated by it tbh.

I have three toilets. I was in the main bathroom, there is also an en-suite and downstairs loo.

Reading the replies has made me realise it was likely deliberate/making a point.

Oh lord no, he has to go

Who the fuck takes an im in charge poop, that's unhinged

Hahaha - this is exactly what I thought, but I couldn't put it so well 😂

Oh that would give me the major ick, I would absolutely be binning off the relationship for that, how gross! 🤢

Jeschara · Today 19:10

When you poo (and most especially when you flush poo away), you release tiny faecal particles into the air which can stay floating in the air for several minutes before settling onto nearby surfaces like towels and toothbrushes.

Can't believe this is news for people! It's the same with urine. I have been with my husband for nearly 30 years, and I have never urinated or pooed in the same room as him, and we used to have one toilet for many years; it's disgusting. I couldn't look at someone the same if they did that to me, and the fact that he chose to do that in a house with 3 loos is unbelievable.

FurthestEdge · Today 19:28

My neighbours do this without a qualm. The subject came up because she said she was sitting talking to her husband while he was in the bath. I said how nice that you keep him company. She said no, she was doing a poo. I said what, while he was in the bath!? She said yes, they both use the toilet even if the other is in the bath.

I can't imagine thinking this is ok. Ever. Well, unless one was really taken short, but then you'd still have a bit of warning to jump out and get a towel. Never happened here though.

I’m married and my husband would never come and use the loo whilst I’m in the bath or shower and vice versa. Sorry I find this totally strange

gamerchick · Today 19:39

Been a while since we had a poo thread.

I usually do but as I was about to get in he suggested bringing me a glass of wine up so I left it unlocked for that reason.

So he did it on purpose! I suppose to see how far he could go.

PepsiBook · Today 19:45

I voted unreasonable... Then read you had 3 toilets. Gross.

winklepickle · Today 19:45

Definitely not normal. 25 years married, and DH and I have never used the toilet in front of each other (apart from one instance, when I was desperately ill in A&E and the poor bloke had to put me on the toilet for a wee.

He's testing your boundaries @Helenaslide

He wants to see what he can get away with, what you'll make excuses for.

Get rid. (Fwiw my domestic abuser father used to have similar power plays around bathroom and toilet access. It's a thing.)

Bonkers1966 · Today 20:02

Whether you find it gross or not it appears he was testing your boundaries to see how much of his nonsense you will tolerate. At least you have only wasted 4 months on him.

Like I said, a baboon shitting to mark "his" territory.
