Ugh athletes foot

I think I have it. I haven’t had any pain or itching but tonight noticed some peeling of the skin, redness but not totally broken, and soggy skin with a pretty funky cheesy smell. Grim I know. I will try and get some cream tomorrow but any other tips? Is it contagious? I was sat sockless on the sofa and now I’m worried I could have exposed the whole household to manky foot disease.

It is very contagious. Sorry.

Dry between your toes with surgical spirit.... stops the athlete foot

Use the anti fungal cream morning and evening
Dry between your toes really well after washing
Get a spray as well as the cream and spray the inside of all shoes and slippers. If any shoes and slippers are washable then wash them.

Oh, yeah, it's very contagious.
Clean and spray all your shoes, put trainers in the wash, buy new insoles, change socks twice daily, wash in hot and put in dryer, socks to bed. No bare feet My toddler just had it! Used a prescription anti-fungal for two weeks.

For everyone saying that it is extremely contagious: I have had athletes foot for decades. It is the way my toes curl round and provide a breeding for it. I permanently have to use cream/surgical spirit for it. I walk round the house in bare feet. None of my family ever caught it from me.

I've had it forever and no-one's ever caught it. If I get a dose of it, I just fill my socks with Athletes Foot powder until it goes away. I think soggy socks causes mine.

It's not like scabies, you don't have to start boil washing. I get it now and again and just chuck some tea tree in there, nobody else in the house is stuck down, don't panic.

I agree it’s not all that contagious- I’ve had it on and off for years and nobody has caught it.

For anyone who has it chronically, mine finally cleared up when I took a course of terbafine tablets for a fungal nail infection. Although they are not to be taken lightly.
