They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

In what way am I stereotyping? I pointed out the irony of worrying about criminal records when the records of men organising these protests.

No stereotyping, these are facts.

Referring to people concerned about mass immigration as followers. It's also extremely condescending.

It was reported in El Pais that shops have run out of pepper spray as women and girls in Ceuta are buying it.

It's spreading.

My prediction is that suddenly the State will become very effective. Not in actually running the country or enforcing our borders but in tracking down who these protesters are and letting them "feel the full force of the law!". Which will mean harsh sentences to set an example to the rest of us. They will be painted as far right racist thugs. This will happen each time, as otherwise the State will not be able to keep control without more and more force being used against its own population. Because people won't keep putting up with it and they don't trust Labour PLP or the left wing Andy Burnham to do anything fundamental about it due to their ideology.

Unfortunately those lads as you call them are paid and/or manipulated quite as much as the far left agitators you call out. I personally loathe all extremes, left and right equally, as they undermine the functioning of representative democracy. We need sane and competent representation. My issue is seeing social media platforms brainwash users into believing those institutions are useless and that any constitution meant to safeguard our rights is a lie. You talk about X but Musk is a notorious supporter (and I guess both vocally and financially as well) of Tommy Robinson. X is a biased platform as much as any MSM. I view those 'lads' as the vanguard of chaos. Women and children never fare well in times of chaos and anarchy. It's always about who's the most brutal thug with the biggest fist.

Currently, there’s no political gain to be made from tackling it, but I think we’ll find as soon as there’s a general election looming, irregular migration will suddenly become a major manifesto item.

It will be too late by then, we are still waiting for Shabana Mahmood to implement what she said she would months ago.

But white working class girls don’t suffer the same poor educational outcomes. So what’s the root cause? It’s not easily explained by class or ethnicity. What we really have is working class men who find themselves unable to compete for unskilled jobs even against men who don’t speak the same language. We have minimum wage laws so if they’re competing for legal jobs it’s not just about immigrant workers accepting lower pay either. Immigration, expectation, attitude, skills, ambition, all those things play a part. For sure there are immigrants who come here and don’t contribute but most evidence shows people come here to better their lives, and that means working. Maybe more white British men should travel and work abroad, expand their skills and horizons.

Eh, they do. White working class girls have to work twice as hard, those who make it into third level education face a lot of obstacles that they have continually proved their worth, somethings about the corporate world are taught through childhood, this isn’t always the case in a lower educated family.

Many more go into third level education, often the first generation to do so.

Period poverty is the top of the iceberg. Today, it’s even harder to be skint when other young girls spend 1000’s on themselves.

I live in a working class area. The girls are better behaved, as they are across most of society. They have a marginal advantage over the boys, that is if they have a supportive family too.

That's exactly the kind of complacency that will bury the new left.

As the consequences of such a drastic and sudden change to society move into the suburbs, more of the educated middle classes are being directly affected. And many of us still consider ourselves left-wing because we believe in the fundamental principles of democracy — yet we're now being called right-wing for holding those same beliefs.

The new right isn't who you think it is. If you genuinely believe Tommy Robinson is the movement, rather than a media-facing stooge being used to give it a recognisable face, you need to take another look.

Don't underestimate what is happening. There is money behind it, organisation behind it, and an increasingly large pool of educated people who either support it or sympathise with its grievances.

You can dismiss the people involved, mock their leaders and tell yourself they're extremists. But every time you do that, you make the same mistake: you convince yourselves that anyone who disagrees with you is an extremist rather than asking why they're increasingly prepared to walk away from you.

That isn't going to make them disappear. It's going to make them stronger.

Brilliant post.

You think the men who dressed in black and following instructions are not followers? You think the pp calling themselves ‘Brave boys’ and championing their actions isn’t a follower?

So girls don’t suffer the same poor attainment as boys, exactly as I said. Do you mean girls have to work twice as hard as boys? Well then that explains why. And yes, they are better behaved.

That’s the point - being white doesn’t explain why white working class boys do so badly. It’s more about their aspirations and attitudes. That’s fixable and not the fault of black and brown boys. Who often also do worse than girls of the same ethnicities, again because of their attitudes and aspirations.

Correct. Feel free to withdraw your false claim that I was ‘stereotyping’ or ‘making things up’.

Maybe you should try not to take things so personally.

My next door neighbour went and he is an accountant, one of his brothers is an orthopaedic surgeon and the other is a physicist.

(edit: meant to quote 👆 your point about them being Nigerian, and flags in gardens)

You also said, in a reply to me, that "My next door neighbour went and he is an accountant, one of his brothers is an orthopaedic surgeon and the other is a physicist."
Firstly, the surgeon (in getting involved in road blocking - an illegal act) has gone against his profession's code of conduct, and faces the sack (there are legal precedents). A Nigerian surgeon whose neighbour has posted publicly about him, with a big flag in his garden shouldn't be difficult for the police to trace. The other two, I would guess, have probably gone against their professional codes of ethics.

Secondly, they should probably be aware that of those they supported yesterday, most do not want them here at all.

In their defence, at least they’re protesting about something that is happening right on the doorstep and affecting us all, rather than joining a another load of followers chanting and getting outraged about a conflict 2300 miles away in the Middle East that has been ongoing for decades that is neither impacting on their lives or putting pressure on our resources.

Girls have to work twice as hard as other girls who are not living in a wc environment. They have to change mannerisms, accent, learn big words that they’re unfamiliar with, hear about books etc that they never read.

WC boys can be successful and many are when they have supportive families.

They naturally will surpass a wc girl working at the same level.

The wc boys who are extremely disadvantaged are from irresponsible homes, poverty, drug abuse, no curfew, allowed to smash other peoples property from a young age.

You get what you put in with kids, if you can keep them away from the gangs. It’s generational abuse.

Smashing police windshields and disrupting travel for hours on end is more than mere protesting. It crosses the line into direct action and that's a big difference. I wish reporting around this was a little more precise in its wording, frankly.

So how do you describe throwing fireworks at police and harassing Jewish people. How about harassing diners for eating in places that are considered Israeli sponsored?

This is a typical assumption made repeatedly.

I think you’ll find most people don’t have a problem with legitimate migration; they have a problem with irregular migration. Those that go through the system correctly, whatever race, religion, colour, creed etc are welcome. Those that attempt to slip under the wire, aren’t.

Many professional people risk their careers for the stop the oil protests.
It will happen. The left has been pushing the narrative that only scum protest, that’s not true. This has managed to keep people quiet for a few years, change is coming, people are noticing that it is a problem worth stepping up about.
This should be a concern for all citizens regardless of their skin colour or previous experiences.
Black people who raised their children here are not afraid to say these aren’t people who have good intentions arriving.

I was born here, but am from an immigrant community. I agree action needs to be taken on illegal immigration. But not like the clowns in black, many of whom simply don't like anyone foreign.
I was raising the point about professional codes of practice and ethics. If the Nigerian professionals that someone posted about are real, they have opened themselves up to losing their careers.
