They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

You’ll need to find somewhere not also changing border control.

Like Farage, I have dual nationality so I’m good thanks. And you know money always buys access, look at all the Russian money in London. No-one ever protests that though, weird.

Thing is, those without money will be stuck here while the loudmouths move onto their next demand. I didn't vote for Gaz and Trev, fannying about Dover in their balaclavas and I don't want them running the country.
The government that was voted in needs to do the job the way they think fit, and if we don't think its good enough, we vote for someone else.

Well how many PMs have we had in 10 years or whatever -I can see this one going the same way ‘ lets house all these homeless people (mostly immigrants)’ yes that will go down well with those paying massive rents

59% only said they would be happy with military intervention... It's not about sample size, check your comprehension.

@interignis is correct, a sample of over 5000 is not a “small sample”. It is large enough to give a reasonable confidence that this proportion- 59% - is the view of the whole country. Surveys like YouGov are very carefully run to get a representative view so they can determine what the picture is in the UK. So, for clarity, after interviewing over 5000 people we can be pretty confident that over half of the British adult population wants the Navy to intervene in the small boat crisis. That’s a significant number and it reflects the country’s frustration with how this is being handled- both here and abroad.
At present that is not UK policy - though we use the Navy for intelligence and monitoring, and we have massively expanded Border Force to take on physical intervention.

Who said all white men were wrong uns?

The pp was responding to this dramatic post

'Poor white men! The most discriminated against minority! We definately need some positive discrimination laws/policies to address their historical disadvantages and under-representation. Maybe you should start a charity or a GoFundMe to raise money to address these centuries old inequalities and to stop women and minorities stealing all the wealth, power and top jobs'

Maybe read the context before your 'gotcha' contributions.

Cringe.

Agree with @ThatJadeLionNeither group covers itself with glory.

OMG People actually believe this shit.

There is an argument that the people protesting about sex crimes, theft etc carried out by refugees and asylum seekers under the guise of " protecting women and children" do not care about said crimes committed by native born men. I never see any work of activism by liberals, socialists, "left wingers", labour supporters or liberal democrats protesting about all violence against women and girls by ALL men. And reading victims names out is not really storming the barricades.

That's because they are all on here calling people racist fascists.

Why “religious reasons apart”? What else are you happy to give a free pass to because “it’s religion”? Gay conversion therapy? Animal abuse? Little girls having their labia cut with a razor blade?

Who decides which practices are acceptable because they’re religious, and which aren’t? Does the religion of the victim matter? If not, why not?
Do you see how contradictory that is? If something is wrong or threatening, why should the justification of “religion” change that?

The literal law decides which religious practices are ok. FGM is a crime, conversion therapy has just been criminalised. Animal abuse is a crime.

Burnham's aim to eradicate street sleepers has been largely well recieved, as even those not coming at it from a humanitarian angle can see that high instances of homeless people on the streets isn't good for communities, tourism etc. Its also entirely seperate from the problem of other people paying extortionate private rents, which is also being considered with a social housing policy to address it.

Quine0nline · Today 08:55

The media, BBC who is generally not considered "far right" or Sky and also the Guardian illustrate stories about illegal or non documented arrivals by refugees/asylum seekers/economic opportunists with large numbers of men who do not appear to be wishing to assimilate into our culture and values. Morrocans running into Cuetta in large numbers, and migrants running into dinghies elicit a response which cause alarm.

Keep trying.

Honestly I’m beyond trying, some of you will slavishly follow anyone. It baffles me but group hysteria is a psychological phenomenon, people love being part of a crowd regardless of the wisdom of it.

I know it's probably uncomfortable for you acknowledging that not all white men are wrong uns. You can drop your pearls now - and breathe.

Where on earth have I said that all white men are wrong uns? Stop making stuff up. I was just challenging your ridiculous assertion that white men are the most discriminated-against demographic which is clearly untrue.

Try living in Ceuta right now. I read the Spanish press as I used to live in Spain. Can you imagine living in a city which has hundreds of undocumented men setting up camp on the beaches, parks and streets and the authorities seemingly unable to cope.

And that’s the problem isn’t it? The vocal minority want everything their own way, yet pretend fo believe in democracy. They’re following rich men and giving money to other men to make them rich, and then complaining that immigrants are making them poor.

I saw footage of the locals destroying some of the tent villages. They must be feeling absolutely desperate.

Those scenes are representative of what's already come to the UK. Tents set up in parts of London. Then there's the woman and her two kids whose farm was invaded by migrants. Some people don't care because spared being called racist is way more important to them.

Pineneedlesincarpet · Today 09:10

I see they've also backed off extending the period to ten years for the Boris wave to receive benefits unsurprisingly. That will also need sorting out by the next government as there's no way the left wing Andy Burnham will take the necessary tough decisions for our economy. The PLP won't let him anyway. So the Boris wave will now have ILR and in three years or so all the millions from the Boris wave and their dependents will be eligible for benefits. And our wealth per capita, already out of the top 20 in the world, will continue to slip lower down the ranks. Our poor kids.

Not at all, i used to love being in a crowd at nightclubs or at the football. It’s a fact of human psychology, people (with some exceptions) love being part of a group. Sometimes that’s harmless and sometimes it’s not.

It was you who pointed out the futility of trying to state facts about some of the men being held up as heroes.

Are you now making things up. You earlier in the thread talked about your own experiences of stereotyping. You're now doing exactly the same.

As far as I know,it was very close to going to trial but other cases had gone and the jury were favourable so they held off taking it to trial. I don’t know all the details and don’t really want to share anything too personal, but my point is those people yesterday blocked actual infrastructure and cost the economy money and inconvenienced everyone using Dover and not a single arrest?

I think you've answered the question as to why people want to hide their identity tho '-doesn't matter where you are on political spectrum your relative has been held in custody without a trial for some time. They may even drop the case. Anyone who still thinks the police won't use intimidation tactics like this to silence dissent is being naive.

In what way am I stereotyping? I pointed out the irony of worrying about criminal records when the records of men organising these protests.

No stereotyping, these are facts.
