My eldest's Grammar school uniform is very similar to this. I think it looks lovely and smart, clearly I'm in the minority though!

I wish they had uniform for her sixth form instead of 'business attire', it would make life much easier!

Our school has done this as they got sick of the girls rolling up their skirts.

Nonsense, it depends on how the skirt is made. Any length skirt can be restrictive or not. I've knee length circle skirts and long skirts made of denim or corduroy that were harder to walk in.

Trousers should always be an option. Not sure it meets uniform guidance as where can you get such skirts other than a uniform supplier?

WTF! It looks ridiculous. I went to private school and sixth formers didn't wear uniform.

It's horrible. What is the point of it?
No one goes to work dressed like that! And it will be uncomfortable.
I don't like uniform at all but .ok with something practical and comfortable up to year 11

all the 6th forms by us is own clothing with certain rules mainly decency! no jeans etc
i cannot see this very popular or practical blazer is standard but running up and down stairs all day sitting at tables etc not ideal

I get told off for wearing a long skirt to school! It was the right colour but the wrong length. I had a detention with all of the girls whose skirts were too short!

There is a school near me that has a uniform with a long skirt like this.
And to make it worse, it is in the most hideous brown colour.
It's as if the brief was to make it as ugly as possible.

Yes and as it is the uniform in the 6th form there is no compulsion to go to school. Rather than wear that I'm sure my DD would have chosen another less good place to do A levels

If it's Clifton College then girls are permitted to wear a trouser suit if they prefer.

Very popular in my independent school sixth form in the 80s - with a side slit right up to the waist and stockings underneath…

Some uniforms are just ridiculous.

DDs school has a daft uniform too but some of the parents are massive fucking snobs (it’s a selective grammar), and they love their daughters looking like some sort of a Tudor witch finder as it screams, “look how special I am, my kid got into the school and yours didn’t!” It’s pathetic.

I think all school uniform should be joggers and polo shirts.

So much more comfortable and practical. I’ve never understood trussing children up in shirts, ties and blazers. Let them feel comfortable.

I know how much everyone enjoys a good froth and I'm sorry to interrupt the fun but assuming OP is talking about Clifton College, she's misinformed. The skirt is not compulsory. It's an alternative to the trouser suit which is worn by the vast majority of students.
