One of my teacher training placements was at a girls' state secondary. Similar get up but brown, no tie....

I've taught international students of all cultures and they are agog at our outdated uniform rules.

Wouldn’t that happen in any length skirt though? I’m just a bit confused as to why you would be more likely to smell in that skirt than any other school uniform.

Schools here - not that far from Bristol make the sixth formers wear the same uniform as rest of the school with possibly a different tie.

My sixth form it was office attire - though it was skirt and jumper for girls and I favoured a long one but not like that.

My DC went to college - everyone wears jeans,trousers, occaional dress or skirt and look like most of the rest of the population. In fact you can't tell difference from ones heading to work and ones heading to college for the day.

It’s not unusual for a private school to go with long skirts. I’m not a fan but some girls like it. Total faff on stairs I think!

Didn't think they had uniforms at that age. Unless it's a private school, of course.

I’ve just never had smelly legs from anything I’ve worn.
My DD’s have a polyester, just below the knee skirt as their school uniform. I don’t think the skirt in the OP being a few inches longer than theirs would be particularly more likely to make them smell, and I’ve never noticed them smelling in their skirts.

All state schools here have sixth former wear same uniform as rest of the school - bar tie change - I was surprised as wasn't what I had in my state sixth form.

My school’s uniform is a knee length skirt and the girls roll them up. In a discussion with the girls and senior management the girls have asked for skirts like that! I was horrified but the girls want them. I think they feel they have to roll their skirts up even if they don’t want to - peer pressure and all that…this removes the option!

I mean, I quite like it. And I'd rather uniforms for school children aired on the puritan side, rather than 'oh hello, there's your minge. Lovely.'

Yup. I voluntarily had a long school skirt in 6th form - 90s. I liked it because the lower school uniform was knee length pleated, as was primary school, so being able to choose a long straight grey skirt in 6th form felt grown up.

The actual uniform is ‘trouser suits’. These can be bought from anywhere.
The skirt in the OP is just an alternative option for anyone who doesn’t want to wear a trouser suit.
