They're outside. We've just had pudding. I presume they imagine I'm faffing about with petits fours or some other poncey nonsense, but instead I'm checking on my threads.

This afternoon, DH took the boys out for 4 hours so I could work. Instead I Mumsnetted.

Is this a sign the addiction is now complete?

Shit, a guest just came in & busted me.

She's in the loo. If I killed her and buried the body, nobody else will find out how bad I've got.

Can I get Cath Kidson body bags?

RESPECT!

SoupDragon · 28/06/2008 22:35

How pathetically sad.

nametaken · 28/06/2008 22:37

Well you're on here too SoupDragon

unknownrebelbang · 28/06/2008 22:37

I guess the time to worry is when your guests sneak away to check mumsnet.

IAteRosemaryConleyForBreakfast · 28/06/2008 22:38

snort

SoupDragon · 28/06/2008 22:42

Yes, nametaken, I am on here but I've not sneaked away from guests to be here.

ChasingSquirrels · 28/06/2008 22:47

i used to sneak away from the inlaws, but I think that is different to dinner guests.

Soupy

If she is new, she will be uber addicted.

I did it once in the very early days.

Oh why not. Sometimes I do anything to get away from my guests (misanthropist).

gigglewitch · 28/06/2008 23:05

totally reasonable imo. [if only to start another frivolous AIBU thread ]

Dior

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance and post forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.

Then someone advertised in Mothercare and we were overrun with "Huns"

Nighbynight · 28/06/2008 23:30

sneaking away from visiting MILs for a rant is what MN is for isn't it?

lol at the OP.

BEAUTlFUL · 28/06/2008 23:35

Needamassage, I did trifle for pudding. That felt a bit wrong, tbh, like I was still in Mum-cooking mode. What should we be serving for puddings nowadays? As you can see, I'm not the most natural hostess...

OP posts:
BEAUTlFUL · 28/06/2008 23:36

God, I'm talking on here about my party while the actual guests shiver, abandoned, in the garden.

Two have gone home. Two more to go. They look a bit settled-in. (Peeping out of window)
