Job interview for 12pm

10 candidates all booked in for 12pm being seen individually by one person.

So whoever is here last will presumably be interviewed an hour later than booked.

Ooh that’s not on, they should have had a machine to give you a ticket with a number like on the deli counter at Sainsbury’s!

I have been here an hour.

Saw this when I interviewed for a Marketing role at the GAP head office in Central London years ago. I turned up all excited about the opportunity ahead of me, and to my horror there were about 20 other people too, all of us with the same timeslot.

It was a joint interview, with us all sitting in a circle. We just had to pipe up when we were spoken to. It was truly horrible.

Ooh it also happened in Kew, again when I thought it was a proper interview, and there were about 15 girls who turned up with the same timeslot as me. I think that might have ended up being for a telesales job, when I'd been told it was for a Personal Assistant role.

I’m too invested.

When I was a graduate I went for a job and we had to be all there for 9am. We then had a cursory tour and
then told to go away until our actual interview time.
They interviewed the internal candidate (who was obviously getting it) first. I was in the middle.
There was a young man who had come from Bristol, the interview was in Durham. They gave him the last time of 3pm.
It just made me think they were a bunch of inconsiderate arseholes.

Ok, I think I’m out.

I do actually have a life outside this game show.

I can’t imagine disrespecting people’s times like this work place is. We need to stop normalising employers being able to treat people like shit and expecting us to thank them for it. OP and all the others deserve better

I can understand booking maybe 2/3 for the same time if you expect the interview to be short (max 10mins) but 14 at one time? Insane...

In the late 90s I was invited to interview for an international marketing assistant role at Dyson. I can't remember the exact time but it was some point in the afternoon, say 2pm. I got there in plenty of time, presented myself at reception and was told to take a seat. I was still sitting at 3.30pm. No explanation, no apology, no offer of a coffee or anything.

I eventually got up and left - who wants to work at a company who treats you like that?

I appreciate that! I’m not after a lot work wise but being treated like something other than cattle is the aim.

What the hell is going on in an 8-minute job interview!? Barely enough time to sit down and say hello!

i used to interview at a shit job back in the day and I would offer the box tickets a job washing up and when they turned it down I’d email it to the job centre. Bit petty but I was so sick of time wasters when people actually wanted the jobs

Did he get his 9 year old to arrange everything? Crazy to interview so many people in the first place let alone the same arrival time. I'd wait it out, be the best interview then tell him you couldn't possibly consider working anywhere so unprofessional.

I agree i would have to wait to tell him to shove his job. What a circus! Good luck OP, with the next job as I am damn sure you do not want this one!
