Salmonella outbreak

I had heard a bit about this from colleagues and friends but genuinely haven’t seen it on the news or anything. Totally wasn’t in my head this morning when my family and I had a full English at a local chain (think Hungry Horse / Greene King). Fried eggs were runny and it’s only when I saw that did I remember about this outbreak. Dc and dh seemed unphased and scoffed theirs. I asked the staff if they use lion stamped British eggs which nobody seemed sure about but eventually a manager confirmed they did.

Am I right in thinking major chains would be using safe eggs?

I think checking was sensible. I'm not sure whether all major chains use them because they're more expensive so they might well import instead.

Nobody seemed to know. The manager said yes they do but I’m wondering if that was just to placate me?
