This is some dystopian lord of the flies hell. Those poor women. Burned on the boat. Wth. Poor man stabbed to death. Why are the people that did this then going to be roaming free in the UK? Why are they allowed to enter the UK in the first place? Why are gangs not being 'smashed'?

Why won't the government tell us the truth about their crime rates?

Most likely their burnt legs are due to accidental injury. Friction burns from sitting astride the side of the rubber dingy or burns from sitting too close to the motor engine. I doubt anyone was using fire on the boat.

The French report states that criminal investigations are being opened in regards to the stabbing and death at sea. Not the burns on the women’s legs which indicates those were accidental injuries. The OP did imply someone had burned the women in an attack.

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but the entire boat load was returned to Calais. No one on this boat ended up in the UK. The French have them.

OP should probably have picked a report on a boat that actually made it to the UK to express concerns.

True, although this news article wasn’t about a crossing per se. It was an attempt at a crossing that failed. They’re all in Calais.

Same article states that 45 of these continued to the UK. They set off in Gravelines.

So no, they are not in Calais.

They have more info on the victims and that a criminal investigation has been launched after stabbing victim was helicoptered to Boulogne Sur Mer, and women with the burns left the boat in Calais to get help.

Prefecture Maritime mentions that the 45 if the initially 110 of the Gravelines boat continued to the UK. Some stayed in Calais because they needed assistance.
