Currently having an actual panic attack about Russia bombing the UK and me and my kid dying.

Yes and then NATO would say they don’t want to escalate. We would just be collateral damage.

NATO would dress it up as protecting the world from ww3 and would look at non combative ways to sanction Russia. They certainly would not all pile in to attack Russia if we got bombed.

I think he’s brutal and will use men around him as fodder which is just horrendous for them. But makes the suffering more local. Which is obviously so bad for those involved. But on the rest this post has a point.

Tyrants like him only commit suicide when faced with imminent capture, like Hitler. Putin is lightyears away from that.

He's testing defences & sabre rattling that's all, if this had gone ignored then he might have escalated. But it HASN'T been ignored, we have responded proportionally every time and so have our allies. It says something that even the US have stepped up to tell him to quit it - it says that we are well protected and that any attempts to escalate will result in massive consequences. He doesn't want that.

The sabre rattling allows Putin to show others in Russia that he's not grown weak & old, that's it. The bear is growling from his cave, no more. We're safe and you and your children are safe.

The way things are going I'd be more worried about trump bombing us than putin

But seriously, if putin was actually about to start a nuclear war I suspect someone close to him would stop him by whatever means necessary.

Even if he did want to die and take the world with him, those closest to him are unlikely to feel the same way.

It suits the West to push the putin danger narrative but the risk of nuclear war is very low.

I actually prefer the idea of all dying immediately together in a blazing inferno than slowly saying goodbye to loved ones one by one (as happens in ordinary life). But I appreciate this is probably a niche view.

I think Trump is by far the biggest risk to world peace. There are no longer any checks and balances in place. He would take us all with him if he thinks he's going down.

None of those threats bother me whatsoever.

But what i do think about is IF it happened i very much doubt it, is where would they start bombing first, as I wouldn't be my area as nothing interesting ever happens here.

Highly unlikely that any of their ICBMs still work - they can’t even keep their single aircraft carrier working and are reduced to buying drones from Iran. The warheads have probably been nicked and replaced with scrap lead and the propellant will have gone damp and mouldy because all the funds for maintenance are resting in some general’s account.

Russia does indeed have a right to defend itself. But Russia has not been attacked. Russia is the attacker in this case. And Ukraine, with the help of her allies, is defending herself.

This has been going on for months now and he hasn’t done anything. Please see your Dr and get something for your anxiety. TBH there is absolutely nothing any of us can do in the unlikely event it happened so what’s the point of worrying? Please calm down and get some help.

As they say; 'hope for the best, prepare for the worst', we have no idea what tomorrow brings and cant second guess what's in someone elses head unfortunately..

There are other ways to disable a country. Like a cyber attack on something important to us. Which they can then deny but it'll keep.is busy. Just prepare for shortages in things that are important to you.

Very very unlikely lovely - we also have nuclear deterrent which would probably be used in that instance.

I mean this with kindness, but I'm pretty sure I recognise your username as having posted a fair few threads relating to anxiety/OCD/paranoia/mental health struggles this year.

I appreciate you are struggling, but you are not going to get proper support here to help you deal with your longer-term struggles. Have you been really clear with your GP the degree to which these fears are impacting you?
