Feeling rubbish over summer holidays

Feel like we haven’t done a lot. Few library trips. Been to cinema with older dc. Younger dc is happy with the park and community fun days which we’ve done a few of. We had a week away. I’ve been working a lot and eldest has been left to his own devices (he’s 14) whereas youngest has been to childminder.

I really try not to compare but I’ve seen so many people on lovely days out to cities, galleries, camping in the lakes, hiking. All stuff that I haven’t got the time or frankly patience to do. We live in the arse end of nowhere and getting anywhere good takes at least 2 hours in the car. I’m looking back over the 6 weeks and struggling to pin point any memorable moments except for our holiday which was nice, although quite quiet too.

Trying to gee everyone up to do something this weekend but the weather looks crap now. I don’t have a problem with downtime we all need it. But I do like to try and mix it up with new experiences and days out and feel like I’ve failed miserably this year. Anyone else?

I've been the same. Lack of money/energy/ finding something we would all enjoy......
Two older sons so difficult. We did go to the cinema last week, saw Wylie vs Acme..... really funny film!

Yes I think the ages of mine make it tricky too. One teen one younger, no shared interests and often have to do things separately or not at all. Dh has worked a lot and I can’t split myself in two so often it’s been not at all. I feel bad about it and I know the insta lifestyle comparisons are partly the blame but equally I do think I should have done more.
