Spider under pillow

About to go up to bed and my husband text me from upstairs to say he’d just seen a thick legged, big bodied spider crawl out from under my pillow.
I’m going to have to sleep on the sofa aren’t I?

Personally I’d just accept that your house now belongs to the spider and I’d move out 🙃

ToKittyornottoKitty · 25/08/2026 23:25

Did he not get rid of the spider?

Openmouthinsertfood · 25/08/2026 23:26

I found a dead one at the foot of my bed the other day when changing the sheets.

Burn the house down and move into a hotel.

Yes you are! I once heard (!) a spider crawling across the pillow beside me. Hubby and I slept on the sofa for a whole week while we searched and hoovered the room to be sure

My husband would know better than to tell me that because he knows I’d never sleep in the bedroom again- he should have just quietly got rid.

If you have a spider phobia, I think your DH is actually a bit of a dick to text/tell you that.

If he knew you had a phobia, he could've just quietly got rid of the spider and let you get on with life none the wiser.

It got worse. Firstly, it apparently crawled out from under pillow and then quickly scrambled over the headboard into the darkness behind it so couldn’t be caught. I went up to grab my pillow and as I shook it to make sure it was spider- free, another bloody spider ran out from under it. Absolute horror! Slept on blow up bed in kids room and there I shall remain forever!

I only have a phobia when I think about them on my face in the night and them dipping a leg (or something) into my mouth to get a drink while I sleep!!

Shove a squirt of insect killer down the back of the headboard. She’ll be right.

I’m Australian. I’m an expert in this sort of thing 😁
