To be going mad waiting for a job offer call?

Had an interview last Tuesday for a job I really want. I thought it went very well and had some really positive feedback from the panel during the interview.

They told me at the beginning that they’d be interviewing until Friday, moderating on Monday and were aiming to give outcomes today (Tuesday).

It’s now just after 2pm and I have heard absolutely nothing.

I know perfectly well that there are hours left in the working day and they never said they’d call in the morning, but honestly this wait is killing me!

I keep thinking surely if I’d got it they’d have called by now, then telling myself to stop being ridiculous because I have no idea how their internal process works.

AIBU to be going slightly mad waiting? And for those of you who’ve been offered jobs, what time of day did you actually get the call?

OP, I would be the same as you. Waiting for interview call backs is so painful. Good luck!

I feel your pain. I'm starting a new job towards the end of September. I interviewed in May - the referencing has (quite rightly) taken forever and I've nearly lost my mind on a few occasions!

Good luck - hope you hear something soon.

I had an interview 2 weeks ago, told I'd hear back middle of last week, didn't hear anything so emailed on Friday (only the place is shut on Friday!) no reply to my email, the job portal hasn't been updated either.

I know it takes time and if they were still interviewing last week it will be longer but this is painfully long (I know it has to be due to the nature of the place).
