2 weeks and 1 day in, the notice period is listed as 1 week during probation period.
Leaving as there hasn't been any proper training, have just been left to it, being told one thing then another is written on the contract, can be asked to do last minute overtime same day, bitchy office staff who gossip about frontline staff, again no training , i was told by the manager one day 'we'll go through all this together today' then an hour later 'there you go, you can do it all, shout if you need me' for a task I'd never done.
Underestimated the commute which is my fault, when schools are back it'll be an hour each way most days.
Anyway very fortunate to have been offered another role which aligns much more with what I'm looking for and seems to have proper training. Got a confirmed start date and signed contract, I gave my 1 week notice today in my current job.
I emailed it to HR but haven't heard back yet, my line manager is away until next Tuesday and the director was away in meetings all afternoon.
I don't need a reference from them and will leave them off my CV, it's 4 working days as Monday is a bank holiday. Worth me asking if they'll just let me finish immediately?
I know it'll probably be a tense conversation with the director in his office, asking why I'm leaving after only 2 weeks and wasting their time, which I do understand I have done.
What would you do?
