Ex work colleague messaged me to say how leaving 2 days before my notice period wasn’t nice and not saying bye to anyone. Let me add that I worked one to one with this work colleague who when I gave my notice in said to me I burned bridges with her for not telling her first, made negative comments about my new job, embarrassed me in front of other staff members saying I burned bridges with her for not telling her first & how I looked for job without informing her as well. I messaged her back to tell her how she made me feel last 2 weeks and why I left 2 days earlier (which was for the reasons above). She then messaged me back to say how I’ve missed the point and how I left 2 days earlier without saying bye to anyone and she will message me back soon to let me know how she really feels.

Do you have a block button on your phone? Use it.

FionnulaTheCooler · 22/08/2026 23:17

Just block her. She's told you that you've burned your bridges so call her bluff and make sure that bridge stays burned. Who cares what she thinks, move on.

HappyHedgehog247 · 22/08/2026 23:20

why are you even engaging with this!? The clue is in the 'ex', ignore, block, move on

FreddysFingers · 22/08/2026 23:26

Unhinged!

Springtimeinsunshine · 22/08/2026 23:28

Don't waste your time or energy on this person and just block them.

Loulou4022 · 23/08/2026 09:38

She sounds unhinged! Block and forget about her!

NotAnotherScarf · 23/08/2026 09:58

Why are you even replying or giving head space to this clearly self centred idiot. Why not just block her. Karma will sort her

alfagirl73 · 23/08/2026 10:11

She was a colleague - not a friend. She is now a ex-colleague - nothing more. Block her and move on with your life.

jdb9803 · 23/08/2026 10:17

I'm going against the grain - but I'm petty!
I'd reply, 'You've already told me how you feel which is why I left early. This messge is the reason you're blocked.' Then I'd block

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 23/08/2026 10:21

I think I'd just respond 'you told me, and everyone that I'd already burned my bridges, so I was taking what you said at fave value. Best wishes for the future.' And ignore any other messages

Exactly this.

Littlebitpsycho · 23/08/2026 10:25

I've voted YABU but only because you havent just blocked her. Why do you even care what she thinks? You've got a block button, use it and move on

Gettingbysomehow · 23/08/2026 10:30

Tell her to get fucked and then block her so she cant reply. That will drive her insane.
People like that always have to have the last word.

Ponoka7 · 23/08/2026 10:32

Just send her a burning bridge gif. If she messages back, don't read it, just send the equivalent of a sad twat gif.

5128gap · 23/08/2026 10:33

You've nothing to gain by engaging with her. She is no longer part of your life, so why put yourself through it? Her unhealthy and childish attitude has already marred the closure of your old job, don't let her upset you even more.

StressedOutPeanut · 23/08/2026 10:35

Just tell her you're not interested in what she has to say and that her behaviour is vile and then block.

LilyBunch25 · 23/08/2026 10:36

Block her. I recently left a job in similar circumstances with very, very good reason and oh boy have I discovered who my friends are (and not!)

PinkKimonos · 23/08/2026 10:38

Why are you giving this a centimetre of headspace?

Just block her that workplace sounds like a toxic cesspit.
Also - and this is coming from someone who is quite sensitive - I can't believe she's so sad she whined at you about this, ppl move on to new jobs & we just accept it. What a whiny move from her!

godmum56 · 23/08/2026 10:45

first post nails it

NoisyMonster678 · 23/08/2026 10:52

She is probably dissgruntled about you leaving and then made it her job to make you feel uncomfortable whilst you work the rest of your notice.

The thing is, she needs to understand that your choice to leave is yours, is nothing to do with her and she needs to back off

She has become difficult and its no flippin wonder you left as she is worse than the influenza virus, hard to shake off.

All you need to do now, is block her, you don't need any more of her attitude as you need to focus on your new job and keep your energy for that because it is worth while.

Remember, you owe her nothing.

Move on and block her she is not your problem any more.
