Care to elaborate why parents of children with ADHD are any more lazy than any other parent?
ADHD in girls often presents with quiet inattentiveness, internal restlessness, and emotional sensitivity instead of physical disruption. How is any of that down to lazy parenting? Many children with ADHD are not physically disruptive or badly behaved so we really need to drop the stereotype of naughty boy presentation and poor parenting.
Scientific and medical evidence shows that ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition rooted in genetics and brain structure. That is not lazy parenting.ADHD symptoms appear across multiple settings (such as at school, at home, and in social environments), whereas typical behavioural issues resulting from inconsistent discipline are usually context-specific.
It is under diagnosed and under supported so many parents are having to manage it with very little, that also is not laziness.
There is nothing wrong with resorting to books or private assessments when you have a struggling child and NHS wait lists many years long is . As has been pointed out by the NHS better access to NHS diagnosis and medication is what is crucial.
None of this is relevant though as the show in question wasn’t interested in the actual reality of ADHD in the UK it just wanted to portray ADHD as a myth.
