Looking for outside perspective Modeling for my artist son’s project

To give context, I'm not upset, angry, or uncomfortable with my son. He's 19, extremely professional about his art, and it's a serious passion/side gig for him. He's painted me a couple of times over the years, as well as his siblings and other models. Last year he did his first artistic nude painting (with a professional model) and it turned out genuinely amazing. I’m really proud of his talent and work ethic

Yesterday, he pitched his next project to me. It's a 6 to 8 painting series focused on women in their mid 40s, specifically centered around me. He showed me the rough sketches and explained his vision, and honestly, I was really impressed.
Here's the thing he mentioned that 2 or 3 of the pieces in the series would involve partial nudity. He explained the artistic reason behind it, but was also super respectful and immediately told me that if I'm not comfortable with it, there is zero pressure and we don't have to do it. He just asked me to think about it

I talked to my husband about it, and he told me he supports whatever decision I make

I personally don't feel weird or offended by his request because I know the context, I understand his process as an artist, and I trust him completely. But because it's a situation you don't run into every day, I wanted to post here and get some neutral, outside thoughts.

Not really. He sounded just like he did on the dog food advert and it was excruciating at the age of 17, and like the receptionist in Alan Partridge’s travel lodge I was trying not to piss myself laughing.

What is partial nudity? I mean, a bikini, ok but topless I’d rather not. Depends on the household attitude to nudity I’d imagine, mine is relatively relaxed but definitely with limits. We have teens, one of each sex and they’ve both seen me topless on occasion, on beaches, occasionally in the shower if I’m desperate for help (I’m disabled) but it’s always their choice and always in a reasonable respectful context. It sounds like it could be reasonable in your case but again, it all depends on the definition of ‘partial nudity’.

It's been a New Puritan few days in Mumsnet World. Parents shouldn't be naked in front of their adult children. No-one should kiss children on the lips, not even their parents. Grandfathers shouldn't ever share a bed with their grand-daughters, even for a chat.

Now I realise I have recreated Sodom and Gomorrah here in the north of England, not locking the door when I have a bath, allowing my toddler to dance naked in a dried-up cowpat during a birthday picnic at Chatsworth, waving at people in posh cars while driving down the M1 at midnight dressed as a nun after 'Singalong Sound of Music'. It’s absolutely fine and you should do it if you’re not uncomfortable. He has a vision and he knows he can rely on you to help him execute that. It’s very expensive for young artists to get life models so others saying he should go off and pay someone else are not being realistic about what it can cost. Are you prepared to put in the time? Holding poses for that many paintings could take up an awful lot of time.
