To find the temperature today unbearable?

In sw London. It’s meant to be cooler but it just feels so humid outside and my house is retaining the heat from the last few days no matter what we do. Fed up of feeling sweaty and lethargic all day.

My shrubs and plants outside are dying or burnt due to the hosepipe ban and no rain.
My houseplants are light-deprived and miserable as we're keeping all the blackout blinds down throughout the house until late in the evening when the sun sets.

17 degrees where I am in Cumbria. I’d love some heat.

17 degrees is fine. Be careful what you wish for.

I used to absolutely love summer. Until this year. I'm also in London and it is absolutely unbearable. Headaches, can't cook, can't eat, just fed up of the humidity and constant lethargic feeling.

I will never ever complain about the cold or rain ever again. I will truly enjoy the colder wetter months. So there's a silver lining.

I could have written that myself! Completely agree with every word. I have also vowed never to complain about the cold or rain again after this horrible, relentless, energy-sapping summer. I have done NOTHING since the end of May and it feels like forever.

I have struggled with motivation throughout the whole of this summer, just no energy or motivation to do anything in this heat and sick and tired of feeling exhausted and sweaty! I stupidly started some much needed painting yesterday and managed an hour before I packed it in and then regretted even starting it as it took so long to tidy up!

Thank god it’s cooler today and praying that it doesn’t come back too soon, but I have heard whisperings of heatwaves in September 😬

Last few days have been awful. Was still hot last night. Bedroom this morning was 22c despite window open all night and curtains open too. Def staked time for it to cool off. Our house was built in 2014 to retain heat ffs! It’s lovely in winter, but summer is a write-off.

Think we all need to get a grip. Yes it’s hot but in a month everyone will be moaning about fog then frost. Why can’t you all just go with it enjoy it while we’ve got it switch on those fans open those windows. It’ll soon be winter then you’ll all be moaning it’s cold.

Nonsense. It’s not just hot, it’s unbearable, hard to sleep and impossible to concentrate. House is almost inhabitable from 2-6pm - either I go in to work (a/c bit not that effective- I work for family business so I’m flexible w hours) or have to sit in shade in the garden.
So glad it’s cooling down.
Was in central London yesterday which was at least a couple of degrees hotter than the suburbs too.

Its dreadful, although we are lucky to live in the country and the house stays fairly OK due to lots of insulation and shading.
At night I go round and open windows and doors front and back and sides and it soon pushes the hot air out.

Roll on autumn.
