In sw London. It’s meant to be cooler but it just feels so humid outside and my house is retaining the heat from the last few days no matter what we do. Fed up of feeling sweaty and lethargic all day.

Could have written your post. Also London. Woke up this morning to thermostat reading 29. And was sweating just doing light tidying. Thankfully feeling slightly cooler now.

because we've got the windows open and the fans switched on and it's still 30 degree overnight?!

It was definitely muggier today and less tolerable than yesterday despite it being supposedly cooler. It didn’t feel cooler at all. It was more tiring and the air felt close so I suppose the humidity was higher today and drier yesterday

We need rain so badly. Insane weather

I will not be moaning about the cold/fog. I’ve always loved it. Much better than hosepipe bans, water shortages and risk of fires. As previously said the fans and open windows aren’t doing a thing.

Thank God I'm not alone! I'm also in London and completely over this summer.
My house has been as hot as Hades this evening.
I'd love to say I float stylishly through the season but in truth I'm a sweaty sleep-deprived menopausal mess.

I have been sleeping outside in the garden. It’s not overlooked and secure so I have slept outside all summer. It’s the only way I can sleep.

You do know some people genuinely do struggle more in the heat than others? Some health conditions get significantly worse in extreme heat.
Don't tell me to get a grip and I won't tell you where to go.

I actually tried this a few weeks ago but we get random cats and foxes strolling in so I was too nervous to sleep 😂

I used to absolutely love summer. Until this year. I'm also in London and it is absolutely unbearable. Headaches, can't cook, can't eat, just fed up of the humidity and constant lethargic feeling.

I will never ever complain about the cold or rain ever again. I will truly enjoy the colder wetter months. So there's a silver lining.

They're obviously not the same people, you absolute wind up merchant, and you know it 😁.
I love the heat, don't mind the cold and despise the rain - I'll only complain about the rain.

I am fed up taking cool showers as often as I can . I wrap up in a sheet afterwards and don't dry off . It helps me to sleep. Hair is probably splitting as it is always wet and tied up in a bun . And can't even use the small paddling pool because of hosepipe ban .

@Nofeckingwaythe hosepipe ban is really hard when you’re desperate to use the paddling pool!

I moved to south west France 5 years ago and this year has been unbelievable.

I have 5 of those picnic ice packs in the freezer, and I circle through them all day and night, I have one here in bed now. It just cools my temp down enough to cope. On my forehead, on my wrists, back of the neck, between thighs, anywhere I can depending on sitting or lying down. Sweet relief.

Its like having a permanent hot flush at the moment, head to toe in a film of sweat and the only relief is for 10 mins after a shower.

I have found it awful today and we’re on the South Coast. The house just won’t cool down.

I’m just curious and not trying to be shitty but do you really need to put makeup on to go out for a drive to cool off in the air con? I did it in my nightie last night although that was at 11pm so I doubt anyone saw me!

Please tell me you have air con. The temps in France have been crazy!

I have a cold bath including washing my hair at midnight. Needs must in a top floor flat

I guess i don’t really need to put make up on but it’s my morning routine. I definitely need a bra and I couldn’t find the courage to put it on today!

My flat was last at a comfortable temp on the 15th June Its been one long heatwave in the Sanctuary sauna

Much nicer today under cloud in my part of East Anglia. Think it was 25C but nearly 10c cooler than yesterday! Agree it was more humid though.

I think I’ve acclimatised to the higher temperatures a bit now but definitely need rain.

Ive got window restrictors at the insistence of the housing association. Black cladding and the front door of the flat is a fire door so no ventilation no gaps allowed.

Never been as glad to live in Northern Ireland! My adult DC have arrived to be cool! One DD said as she drove north it was great to see the grass turning greener! My other DD who lives in Wiltshire had a baby 3 months ago and they have had to endure 5 heatwaves since then!

No air con. Very old farmhouse which until this summer was cool inside but even that hasn't worked this year.

It's been 40°c daily for weeks now. Probably about 12 of them. Every time I see a forecast our area is the reddest of the red colourings again.

We had one thunderstorm with zero rain which I'd never experienced before, then back to scorching the next day

Anyway it will soon be autumn. Keep on keeping on.
