Selling used undies?

iknowineedtostoptalking · Yesterday 16:47

Lighthearted…. except at three in the morning when I’m lying in bed worrying….

Is it unreasonable to be (sort of) seriously considering trying my luck at selling my used undies?

Name changed because ew gross.

(I’m just sick of working super hard and being careful with money…. and still not having any. )

@Lexy2345 anoint, that's a classic.

What do they say, a fool and his money are soon parted? I would say that if they're daft enough to pay their money for it, why not.

My DD's friend was having a good clear out of her underwear after having a baby and realised nothing fit any more. She had lots of expensive sets so put them all on FB marketplace and was inundated by the most horrific messages... asking if she'd wear them first.... she couldn't get the posts down quickly enough.

I’m in tears laughing at this 🤣🤣🤣

Trust me on this
An awful lot of men LOVE being humiliated.

A friend of mine does this and whilst she hasn't made a fortune she has paid for two family holidays and some days out.

She goes on a specific site and has a bum shot photo (not of her - one that she found on the internet!!). She buys cheap knickers from Primark and when she sells a worn pair she literally take a pair out of the bag, rubs it around her armpits if she has just been to the gym or her husbands armpits when he comes home from work, puts them in a plastic bag and posts them off! She has regular buyers!!!

Men are idiots - they will buy anything!!

So she's catfishing and an online scammer, then? Not that I have much sympathy with the men who buy them - although I'd wonder if some of them have some kind of mental health issue - but it's seriously lowering yourself and throwing your own pride and dignity out of the window.

Surely by entering into this kind of murky business, she's as grubby as the punters are?

Edited

I'm sure online and phone scammers see it the same way: that if people are foolish enough to pay them, they must deserve it.

I'd also wonder how many of these men are actually single; and how many of them have a wife who has no idea that they're sending family money to another woman in exchange for 'sexual favours'. I doubt the wives would find it quite so funny.

Nugg · Today 06:25

Oh my God, how funny they were talking about this earlier on the Radio and apparently people literally go and buy a new packs of cheap undies spray them with perfume and put them in the post. I’m all up for that🤣🤣

Jeez! I thought women wanted to be taken seriously and treated with respect.
Aim higher!

Nothing wrong with wanting to make extra money this way if people will buy them! You can have a “serious” job but still want more money to overpay the mortgage, invest into pension or just old fashioned have some fun like a holiday before AI / outsourcing / automation steals your main job and income drops

Does she declare this income on her tax return? 😂

women survive how ever they can.
my understanding of men with such fetishes is that they have to escalate at some point. Meaning it’s possible that someone else will face the consequences of men always getting what they want.

Rubyupbeat · Today 07:44

One friend made a pretty penny selling her used undies, she stopped when she got several requests for children's underwear.(she had no children, so was obvious phishing requests but made her physically sick)

But what would liking used knickers escalate to? Genuinely interested as I'm male and can't see what is next on the perv scale.

HoldingOntoMySanity · Today 08:00

Dont know @NotAnotherScarf but there is a 'market' for pretty much everything. Period stained underwear, children's underwear, breast milk etc. TBH that's just the beginning of horrifying shit some men like.

Trying to look at knickers that are currently being worn? Or propositioning women in the street and asking if they'd be interested in taking off and handing over the ones they have on for a generous sum?

Jesus...I guess I fail the pervert test then. I'd not thought of those options! Sometimes I despair of men and I am one

omghereistrouble · Today 11:19

Though you hear people who make a small fortune on this I would rather keep my pride

topcat2014 · Today 11:21

I read a piece in the Times today about how Only Fans has become more exploitative etc.

I know this isn't that - but "if something looks too good to be true" then it usually is.

There’s a series on iplayer called Mood where the young women put pritt stick in the gussets to make the underwear look worn before posting it off to unsuspecting buyers.

It’s a good series - I really enjoyed it.

Here was me thinking I’d actually have to wear them! 😂

NGL, it has crossed my mind, but I couldn’t actually do it. Apparently, for those interested, if you list on Vinted with ‘IYKYK’ or ‘help me have a hot girl summer’ it attracts the sort of buyers who would be interested in this sort of thing 🤢

AbsolutelyWould · Today 11:31

NC for this....but I absolutely would if I thought it was worth it.

I'd worry about safety though. How could you be sure they couldn't find you in real life?

Theresalittlebitofwitchinyou · Today 11:40

I was literally thinking about this the other day watching OINTB. I was debating whether or not I would actually end up making money or knowing my luck end up somehow actually in prison instead

MrsKateColumbo · Today 12:18

I often post on the lululemon reddit page as I like to see what colours etc are available in different countries (very sad I know!) I once posted a pic of myself in a top in 2 sizes asking how much give the material has etc, on the post I got useful advice but I then got loads of DMs asking if I would sell sweaty gym gear 🤣🫨

It surprised me as at the time it seemed like it was only brand fans on the page but obvs lurkers everywhere

I didnt respond as I felt a bit weird about them messaging

bebanjo · Today 13:47

Up skirting, hidden cameras in public spaces, steeling form washing lines, breaking into homes to steal. Once a boundary has been crossed they need to keep upping the anti to get there kicks.
I remember a talk form the police about this kind of thing when I was a teenager.
