A child who did outstanding (without spending a penny) the same result as a family who spent £250k + The above article is a low estimation for a selective U.K. day/ boarding.

The kids holding the same result off to the same Uni, How are families feeling!?…. Did you save to help towards the Uni Fees/accomodation.

Outside of London, all regional are the same.

Do private schools really believe families don’t talk and share information. The information they send out in school emails on their own letterheads.

I mean you clearly don't have children at ps. Weird obsession about other peoples lives. Maybe have a coffee, go for a walk.

All families reading this and receiving any of these emails should forward them on to journalists to avoid any confusion. Let’s see how many there are out there. Begging letters and cut backs. I have personally read many!

I have friends many are struggling. It’s a disgraceful situation.

The only begging letters I've seen or heard about have been from state school heads. On here I think. Very very sad state of affairs.

Independent schools are no longer sustainable, any person who has, in their inbox one of the many begging letters (let’s start to share these online) or cut back notifications holds evidence to that fact. This year it will get worse.

Labour have not yet delivered the VAT money raised to the state sector which, within social circles, WhatsApp chat, is the gripe.

This year ahead, finance and the way the scales tip will be very telling for the future of UK education. All eyes on the finance.

I stopped reading the thread because it seemed the OP didn't want to engage with people properly but it seems they've left and now there's another poster who obviously doesn't have children in an independent school banging the same drum.

The 93% club is ludicrous (and incorrect). I've seen things not open for ps kids. During the VAT constant nasty bitter whinging debacle, I and many others, fell naturally into another camp. The camp which would stop subsidising others, helping others, and concentrate on our own. If I had a choice between a ps kid and a 'state' school kid (I agree troubling labels) of the same ability, I'm choosing ps. sorry not sorry. and it wasn't that way before.
