How has yours been? Where have you gone, what have you done?

Are you wanting it to last longer or ready for autumn?

It's gone very quickly 😞
We're away tomorrow for a week in Cornwall, got a few days work the following week then it's back to school.
(I know we're not even half way through Aug but in my head it's nearly over!!)
Hope you've enjoyed it OP

I haven't done much of any note, but I've absolutely loved feeling the warm air wrapped around me. Just walking out of the front door in a dress and flip flops without bracing myself against the cold. Just knowing that the sun will be shining every morning when I wake up and it will still be warm and light when I get home. Never been a fan of winter (to say the very least) but this year I'm dreading it more than ever before.

Why the laughter?

Mine has gone far too fast! We had 10 days in Spain and I love no school run/no shit school to deal with, no bullying and no trying to support an ND child through a school that is pure evil.

We usually go away for a decent chunk of it but this year haven't been able to. We are starting a big extension and new kitchen/utility and just haven’t been able to afford to.
Sometimes things happen for a reason though dh has worked most of it (own business£ and today has got two really big contracts he definitely would t have fit if we had been away so that’s good news.

We’ve loved the weather and I’m not ready for it to go anywhere just yet. September to December is my favourite time of year so I am looking forward to that too.

I know I’m super lucky as I work in a school so I’m on week 4 but it’s going so fast!
DH and I had a week visiting my cousin then a week fishing and chilling. My mum has just been to stay for a couple of nights and we had a day out with my MIL. I’ve done lots of pottering at home which I love as I’m usually away from home 3 nights a week for work, got my car aircon fixed and I’ve got a couple of days out with friends still to look forward to.

I had an op on the first day of the summer holidays so ds(14) has been very good at looking after me while I’ve been signed off recovering!
to be fair dh and him have been brilliant but I felt sad for ds, we managed a week away in the uk last week where dh and him could get out and about and do some fun stuff together, fishing, golf, go karts, more fishing, they found a football match to watch, and I could rest up but in a different location!
I’m back to work in 10 days feeling very guilty that I’ve not been able to do much with him despite being here all the time. His friends have mostly been on holiday or sent away to grandparents as parents are working. He’s seen a few of them where he could and he’s had a few trips out with cousins and family members too but we usually take a big abroad family holiday with our older dc too and it’s just not been possible this year.
Still, feeling very grateful that he’s such a lovely lad, we’ve played a lot of board games and watched a few series together on telly and done a lot of laughing together which has genuinely been lovely.
