Do they not know about the dangers of spent balloons and wildlife? I would complain to the Head Office.

whoops · 27/06/2008 16:38

I phoned the head office and they were quite shocked and were going to call the shop & the area manager

you know what, i have never ever thought of that!! Thanks for posting, its pretty obvious now i read it .

The RSPCA ran a campaign about this, especially with regards to mass balloon releases - they are very harmful to wildlife, when the balloons burst and the rubber floats to the groud they clog waterways andget swallowed by birds, animals and fish. Helium filled are the worst because they travel further.

Arghhhh - makes me so cross! They have a duty BY LAW to dispose of their 'waste' properly.

I would have also reported them to the Environment Agency for reasons including those from BouncingTurtle but that's just me...

whoops · 27/06/2008 17:00

if I see them do it again I will, my office windown looks over the back of their shop so am there daily

What they should have done was inhale the helium and talk to the customers like Donald Duck
