Annual bonus being paid. First time in 3 years . Reorganisation last year - new role that
i didnt really want but had no choice to take as no refundandcy. Worked my arse off to make success despite very poor conditions and training by employer. Messed up due to very poor health including a serious health diagnosis. Got a disciplinary as a result. Which I took in the chin even though very very upset .
because of this on my record - no bonus.
feel pretty pissed off

Are you in a union? If ill health = disciplinary = no bonus I'd suggest that this could be disability discrimination.

racheltraff · 11/08/2026 19:35

It’s not really disability related - the illness caused me to make poor judgement. I take ownership of my actions but still feel hacked off

Obviously don’t have the detail But I’d say it’s fairly common policy that anyone who has disciplinary on record for the bonus period is excluded. But this should be made clear to you so you could have challenged disciplinary at the time if you didn’t think it was appropriate based on your illness.

racheltraff · 11/08/2026 20:26

All I can say is I won’t be working my arse off anymore. They don’t deserve it

It is common for those with a live disciplinary on file to not get bonus or pay rise at most workplaces. If you felt it was unjust or had a valid defence this should have covered in the hearing and appeal process.
