My elder sister asked me to mind her daughter over night whilst she goes to a wedding.

She txt'd me a few times asking, she asks quite alot and its always overnight, never a few hours.

Her daughter is well behaved but is almost 2 so sometimes doesnt settle, misses her mum etc...

anyway, I have had ALOT on my plate lately so have told her 'no' the last 4 times she has asked.

However as this was a wedding and she seemed like she really wanted to go I agreed (I have 3 kids of my own!)

Now I spoke to her husband and apparantly they might not be going to the wedding but just 'our round their way' instead.

AIBU to be pee'd off that instead of telling me they couldn't make it to the wedding and saying I don't have to mind their daugher now they have just arranged a different night out?

Nope, YANBU. If I were you I would tell them that they are starting to take the piss and you will not be doing it AT ALL in future if they do not show you some respect.

I think she was a bit unreasonable. I can see why she did it. She already had a sitter booked so didn't want to waste the evening if they weren't going to the wedding.

But I think in fairness she should have given you the option to drop out as you were doing her quite a big favour.

Unless of course they are prepared to have your 3 on a regular basis so that you can go to the chip shop and have all the lager shandies you want

She never minds mine, I wouldn't dream of asking!
Especially overnight!
