AIBU to find repeated Sue Sue Sue comments on Ann Droid boring now

In every discussion about the TV comedy Ann Droid there are numerous posters writing "Sue Sue Sue".

We've just had episode 4 and it's not been said since the very beginning of the second episode and doesn't feature anymore yet everyone is writing it on posts. AIBU to find it boring now? The show has moved on and it's funny enough.

I still think “Neil Neil orange peel” and The Young Ones was in the 80s 🤣

I do. I know some Neils and have to stop myself saying it 🤣

I am finding it quite funny. Agree that Michael Is extremely annoying, wet lettuce!

I think you mean '"nappy-wearing, breast-fed emperor baby" 😂

I really wish Paul Ready would get some more interesting parts on TV. He’s such a brilliant actor- often on at the Globe (he’s married to Michelle Terry) playing a whole range of parts (he was a fantastic Macbeth a few years ago) yet on TV he only ever seems to get the wet lettuce roles.

I expected it to be shite but I enjoyed it. I’ve watched it all and was disappointed I’d run out of episodes

Lentilcakes · 09/08/2026 12:26

I enjoyed it but agree. Too much Sue Sue Sue.
Michael and wife def were the weak link.

I prefer Here We Go - it’s so underrated but very well played and relatable.

Really dumb concept. Amn Droid should have been one skit on a wider skit show. Comedy for "my kids are my world" vibes

Nonsense.

The comments I'm talking about are from Facebook not here.

Maybe you spend too much time on Facebook, then.

I would probably have turned it off after episode 1, but DD was enjoying it so we left it on. So glad we did, I really enjoyed it, it just needed to grow on me!

SnowFrogJelly · 09/08/2026 12:39

First ep was hilarious

You're trying to work out why people on Facebook are annoying and dumb? I mean, is it your first time on there?

There's always one isn't there?

I really enjoyed it and would love another series but maybe it’s aimed at more mature tv watchers as the youngsters clearly don’t understand the subtleties?

rollonxmas · 09/08/2026 12:49

I loved it so much I’ve watched it twice. Very funny and poignant

champagnetrial · 09/08/2026 12:50

We have been saying Sue Sue for a long time because of The Middle. Actually, we use it as an exclamation of surprise 'What the Sue Sue Heck?'
(Sue Heck will always be the og Sue Sue).

Also, if you want an android that looks like Ann Droid but is ever so much more chilling, check out Cassandra on Netflix.

My dc was the one who persuaded me to stay & watch another episode!

loveagift · 09/08/2026 12:51

@champagnetrial my dc love in the middle, watch it daily!

BlessedAreThePureOfHeart · 09/08/2026 12:53

I really liked Ann Droid but the only thing that slightly annoyed me was that the robot was called Linda I thought surely it should have been called Ann??

malloryknox123 · 08/08/2026 22:05

I’ve just realised it’s not Aiden Turner, must be the moustache but I honestly thought Michael was played by Aiden…

Blimey, you’ve just made that actor’s day!!! 🤣 The moustache puts me in mind of “Village People”.

TheChosenTwo · 09/08/2026 13:01

I liked it, I thought she only says SueSueSue in the first episode, they dropped it too soon in my opinion 😂

the son is meant to be a waste of space; it increased her reliance on her robot and gave the relationship between them time to develop. It’s not really that deep.

dreamingofgoodhair · 09/08/2026 13:09

Awful. Watched two. Shame as I like Diane Morgan and her and Sue Johnson were hilarious in the first series of The Cockfields.

I think she was but Sue was allowed to name her a different name if she wwanted so she named her Linda after her sister who she hated.

BellaPommefritio · 09/08/2026 14:27

I'm interested to see what Linda will make of Michael's 'relationship' with the intercourse AI. Could see a few potential funny observations being made!

Justonegirl · 09/08/2026 15:30

I felt a bit sorry for Michael. Especially when he found out he was infertile.

Just me?

OK I'll get me coat.

? Sorry you're so personally invested in the success of a BBC sitcom (and thanks I love Rednex, even pop in an oak)

It’s from the series!
