To not take step kids on my holiday?

Were we unreasonable to go on holiday without my step kids?

My husband has got two kids from a previous marriage, they are 10 and 12.

My family invited my husband and me to a trip across the USA to visit relatives and we had a great time. The weather was great and we did lots of activities. When we came back however, and my husband told the kids about the trip, they in turn told their mum and she kicked off royally, screaming that he neglected them, spent all his money on himself and nothing on them, and that they should have come in the trip.

That obviously was never going to happen- it was my family who lives in America and my family who paid for this and it was during term time anyways. I do agree that he shouldn’t have told them about it and shown them the great things that we did but surely it’s not normal for the mum to expect them to go on MY family’s trip?

What is amazing is how selective posters who think he is doing nothing wrong are! Pour father who got his kids taken away from him....except OP said he went to court the first time BEFORE she moved away. Why didn't he ask for 50/50 then?

He told his kids they'd be spending the weekend with their aunt, of course he did....when OP clearly stated that he didn't.

Those are supporting you and your OH ARE the ones who don't read everything!

OP we are only going by what you said and what you said described a dad whose kids are far from his priority.

You are choosing not to see it. It is your choice indeed.

They read the updates they just have a visceral hatred of second families
OP made it very clear they are not part of her family!
