AIBU to feel neglected by my husband’s constant gaming and hobbies?

I’m getting seriously annoyed at the lack of effort my husband makes with me!

My husbands always had multiple hobbies which is fine, so do I. every day he plans to do something after work and will then come back and have his dinner very late (around 11!!).

He’s a gamer as well, and for the last few months, he’s been getting up at 7am and going to play games on the couch. This makes me feel quite lonely as I wake up alone. Today we’re both off work and I got up at 8 to him gaming in the living room. Got a “morning” and had to go over to him to give him a kiss. Didn’t bother stopping the game or getting up or getting off the game. I’ve started reading in the bedroom because he’s obviously not interested in speaking!

We used to have sex in the morning but that’s gone since the gaming has recommenced.

Hes so tired from his other hobbies that he falls asleep on the couch at around 1130 and then I have to wake him up to go to bed.

I’ve tried to approach the lack of connection between us but I feel like a nag. I feel like I’m living with a teenager!

He plays on the game constantly, from the morning to evening. In the evenings he’ll say “are we doing anything?” And if we’ve not got plans he’ll either stay on the game or begrudgingly watch a film with me, and ends up falling asleep in the first 20 minutes.

He says it’s a hobby and it’s unreasonable for me to have a problem with it… aibu?

Imo, gaming is an addiction or can be. This feels like a very lonely life OP. Not sure what the way forward might be, counselling, a proper conversation about what he thinks the future might look like? I don't think I could live like this tbh.

My granddaughter went through this, even when they had their first child all her partner could think about was gaming and football. He had literally no conversation other than football, and so in the end the inevitable happened, and she left taking their child with her. Sit him down, have one SERIOUS conversation about the way you both feel, and tell him that he continues to put other things before you, then your life together is OVER!! Please don't waste your life on someone who is so entrenched in his hobbies that you're less than an after thought. Life is really short, and believe me, it goes by so very quickly.
