Should Ariana/her team be posting images like these ?

This is from her official instagram. I understand she is unwell but putting out these kind of images must be so damaging for young girls, especially ones already struggling with body image issues. This image is really concerning. Where are her family ?!

Should Ariana/her team be posting images like these ?

I’m not convinced by this. Ariana grande doesn’t want clicks or views. It’s a photo she has posted on her own instagram, it’s not click bait.

I think it’s been posted because, due to her eating disorder, she thinks it’s a great image.

"Ariana grande doesn’t want clicks or views"

Why post at all if she doesnt want clicks or views? Posting on "her own" instagram, means people will see it?

It seems like a weird picture to post considering she’s recently been whining about the media making comments on her body. Or maybe she’s just a drama queen who relishes in the attention.

It’s publicity, it’s part of being a global star and her social media strategy will be extensive and agreed well in advance- it’s probably been scheduled a year. But She doesn’t need “clicks” (which to me indicates something that you benefit financially from, ie a influencer who is paid for click throughs) and neither is she chasing “views” ie she’s Ariana grande, whether her page gets 15m or 25m views doesn’t have quite the same impact it might do for an influencer using instagram.

Nowadays famous people do need to be “on” for their social media strategy. They don’t ist disappear and stop posting. It’s a business, a planned machine. There always would’ve been a campaign planned for visuals of the tour.

as it is, those visuals are now turning into something much darker and more scrutinised than they would’ve anticipated in say, January when they planned the strategy

I saw it screenshotted from Reddit and screenshot it myself to share here.
The fact is that image is still there, whether you have to zoom in or not is irrelevant surely ?

I think there is quite a big difference. The image in the OP looks very much like it’s celebrating how skeletal she is. The actual post as one of 20 imagines, many which don’t display her body, does not look like it’s doing that.

Most people would not zoom in to get a better look of her bones and it doesn’t have the same shock factor as the zoomed in image.

I agree that she is clearly very unwell and there are safety issues to what is essentially pro Anna content being so publicly shared.

But I disagree with images being blown up and taken out of context to make her seem like more a villain in all of this.

The image has been taken out of context. She didn’t post the image in the way that OP has shared it.

It’s really interesting that the image being discussed wasn’t the original one posted. I think that’s quite representative of the discourse around arianna

She can post whatever she wants, within the platform's rules/limits. She's not responsible for the world's 'young girls', only for her own children, which she doesn't currently have. End of story.

I see your point on this occasion, but you can’t say Ariana hasn’t shared hundreds of images like these ones since her tour began? She is skeletal and wearing skimpy clothes to show it off. It’s massively irresponsible of her/her team to be basically glamourising an ED.

But it was posted ? Just because it is zoomed in doesn’t take the fact away her bones are on show for all to see ?

It’s all PR, that’s all they want, to be current. Why can’t she just step away quietly instead of announcing it? 🤔

Because she was scheduled for a high profile performance. It’s pretty common for people to give reason for why they cancel shows
