Has anyone ever had to see a dentist abroad?

Heading to one of the Balearic Islands tomorrow. I’ve had some issues in the past few months requiring cleaning and antibiotics (think infected gum type of thing). It feels ok now but I’m getting very anxious about it flaring again while we’re away. I do suffer with health anxiety and get especially bad when we are going away from home so I’m a bag of nerves at the moment.

There is no obvious cause for concern at the moment but I tried to still see my dentist this week just for peace of mind and unfortunately they couldn’t get me in. So im just trying to remain logical and think even if it did happen abroad there are dentists there and I could get it sorted. Has anyone else ever had something like this while
on holiday and was it easily dealt with?

Yes. We walked into one off the street in Mallorca and got sorted that day. If you’re happy to pay, you can always get sorted abroad esp somewhere like Spain. I also get health anxietie esp in relation to holidays but I reassure myself that all the same services exist wherever I am and that that’s what credit cards are for.

Yes in Thailand , was petrified as the dentist didn’t speak English. X ray , filling and some tablets £3

I did try this but they flat out said it was a dental issue and wouldn’t prescribe anything which I kind of expected. I will just see how I go, it’s a shame that the uncertainty has taken the shine off the holiday but I can only wait and see what happens and use the Spanish dentist it really necessary.
