the Betsy and Dylan storyline in Corrie- is “everyone” really doing this? Or am I just too sheltered?

On a flight recently I sat next to two girls that i guess were about 20-21ish. I couldn't help hearing their conversation which was one of them telling the other how great it was being slapped during sex. Her friend sounded incredulous but following being persuaded by her mate thought she might give it a try. I had to bite my tongue. I wanted to suggest that she should try punching her boyfriend in the face mid act and see how much of a turn on he found it. I found the whole conversation worrying how normalised its appeared to become with these girls happy to go along with it.

Apologies. Strangulation while having sex. Apparently everyone is doing it. In this storyline it caused a stroke.

Who is everyone? No man has ever tried it on me nwver thought of doing or having it done

Do people who watch soaps realise there is a big wode world put there and not everyone in the world all does the same thing?

Maybe people need ro get out more?

Just because it's not happened to you doesn't mean it hasn't happened to anyone else. Your experience is not everyone's else's.
