Manchester Private Hospital / Elective Healthcare Ltd – Has anyone used them? Worried about booking process
Message Body:
Hi everyone,
I am currently looking into getting a surgery and have been in contact with Manchester Private Hospital (I'm looking to use their regional clinic in Birmingham on Harborne Road).
However, I am feeling incredibly nervous and a bit weirded out by the booking and deposit process, so I really need some advice or real patient experiences before I send any money.
Here is what is making me uneasy:
-
The Company Name: My patient coordinator (xxxx) emailed me asking for a deposit, but the bank details provided are for a company called "Elective Healthcare Limited." I know it means "elective surgery" (as in, optional cosmetic surgery), but the mismatch between the hospital name and the official company name is making me paranoid that it's a bit dodgy.
-
The Bank Account: The sort code they gave me (23-01-20) belongs to Revolut. Is it normal for an established private hospital to use a digital fintech bank like Revolut for customer payments rather than a traditional high-street bank like Barclays or Lloyds?
-
The Phone/Staff Loop: There is only one single phone number listed for the hospital. Every single time I call, I am answered by the exact same receptionist. I only ever get to deal with her or xxxx —no one else ever picks up. Whenever I call to ask for xxxx directly, the receptionist always blocks it and says she will just "pass on the message to xxxx to ring me back." It feels incredibly small-scale, isolating, and overly controlled. It's making me wonder if it's a closed loop or if something else is going on.
I haven't sent money because my gut is telling me to be extremely careful. I know they have a CQC registration profile, but has anyone actually had surgery with
Manchester Private Hospital?
