She's been on BBC Breakfast this morning talking about her relationship with Prince Edward and how she's written a memoir about her experiences.

Prince Edward is now with Sophie obviously, who he's been with for years. Ruthie did say that the book wasn't a 'kiss and tell', but really?

Yes awful. Her fame must be fading fast if she has to write this book.

The book is obviously about her life, but of course her agent will be pushing this angle. It’s just how they sell / promote books, really.

I’ve not read it and know very little about it. No real interest in either of them as people but I agree that this seems an unnecessary grab for attention in poor taste.
I’ve had adverts for the memoir pop up and I just think ‘who cares’?? If your life isn’t that exciting without dragging in a minor member of the royal family then don’t bother with hw book. Brings her down in my opinion.

I believe she wanted sun/Mail etc to approach her and do a serial tell all, I fear she’s quite bitter.

NB. I’ve also met Edward and Sophie. He’s quite a nice bloke. Sophie is very engaging, chatty.

I saw her on Sunday Brunch. I don't think you should make money from this kind of kiss and tell. Edward has been with Sophie for more than 30 years. It's given Ruthie a lot of publicity, though

She has lived off her association with him for decades, it’s embarrassing. When she was in the jungle a few years back, she told cringey stories about it. She comes across as unpleasant and desperate for attention. If she hadn’t had a fling with him, she’d just be the two-bit musical theatre actress she always was, and absolutely nobody would remember her now. Not sure she even has an acting career any more, certainly nothing of note. She’s cringe.

Well, her publishers’ lawyers will have been all over it for anything actionable, but it sounds as if it’s carefully twee and nostalgic, judging by the blurb on her publisher’s page — sort of eighties adorable naïveté meets the Establishment.

She shared some anecdotes and talked about dating Edward, it's very personal and I think she's crossed a line. What if he wrote a book about how she behaved?
She knows he won't be critical or challenge any of it.

There was a piece in one of the Sunday newspaper magazines a few weeks ago “my affair with Prince Edward” but actually neither of them was married or in another long term relationship. So in fact it should have been “Prince Edward was my boyfriend” Not nearly so exciting 🤦🏼‍♀️

I saw her promoting the book on This Morning a week or two ago and I thought then how tasteless it was. I mean, who gives a shit?!

Ah her "i shagged a prince" book tour, she was on This Morning a few weeks ago i saw she was on Bbc Breakfast and turned it over, she was on I'm a celeb during covid in Wales, she was touting her "i shagged a prince" story there she must have been after a book deal.

She said on This Morning people they knew thought he was "A friend of Dorothy" (gay) and she put them straight, Classy !

I saw the interview on BBC breakfast this morning. There was an obvious contradiction when she was talking about her awards - she said she didn't want to show off!

If she doesn't want to show off, why is she dining out on her involvement with Prince Edward for all its worth?! The interview revolved around her fleeting association with the Royal Family. Now she has monetised it by writing a book.

It did seem in poor taste.

I’m old fashioned. Sleep with whom you like but we don’t need to hear the gory details.

Why anyone imagines their bedroom exploits described in squelchy detail are pleasant to read about baffles me.

I suppose once Susan Boyle has stolen your musical thunder work gets a bit harder to find.

She must be short of work. It's all about the money.

I think her book’s unlikely to sell as she’s not exactly famous, so there will be little interest. So it’s obviously an attempt to get some interest in the book by bigging up the fact she dated Prince Edward. But he’s utterly blah, with virtually zero public interest, so I can’t see it improving her sales.

As far as I know, there’s nothing in it remotely likely to embarrass him.

I read some of it in the daily Mail until my stomach starting churning, she said they shagged all night and that she took her knickers off to imply she wanted sex, denying he was gay etc.

I mean he is a married man, and has been for about 30 years with two adult children. Him and Sophie have always maintained their privacy and kept a low profile so I really feel for them, especially Sophie having these intimate details splashed across the news.

One thing is for sure, he definitely upgraded when he married Sophie. Apparently the Queen saw her as a second daughter, and the Queen was a good judge of character.
