Just seen a new advert for Purdey and whatever kitchen cleaner. It's a man cleaning the kitchen with the logo stating 'who said cleaning was a chore'
AIBU to boycott this product as the implications from their shit ad is that women have moaned for years about running a cloth over the kitchen work tops...

I'm absolutely burning up with rage.

They have men and women in lots of their ads. Surely it's supposed to be saying that the product is so lovely that cleaning is less of a chore? But I really couldn't care either way. I take more issue with 'period proud' products in the library I visited last week - great idea, poor execution - I've never been proud of having a period in my life. Yes I get it's about being a normal part of life free from 'shame, silence, or embarrassment' as the rhetoric ran... but 'proud' to encompass that? No.

I’ve seen a few adverts where men are in ‘role reversed’ situations recently. Flash adverts have shown men cleaning and I heard a radio ad where it said something like ‘dad’s in the kitchen mum is out in the garden’

Because they choose to. All athletes are given a choice of at least three different running short shapes and lengths. The same for tops. If you see anyone running with their bum out, it's because that's the style they have chosen.

It's saying that it's not a chore when you use their products. It's nothing to do with men and women, beyond the fact that they probably used a man because people would say it was sexist if they had used a woman.

I’ve heard plenty of women moan they hate cleaning and the deal breaker in their life is doing the cleaning, so they hire a cleaner, regardless of whether they are single or married.

Not really seeing thay interpretation. I don’t buy their stuff as it’s shite. Not sure I’d class it as a boy cott though and announce it on social media.

No, it's just fashionable at the moment. Go to any amateur, local meeting. Everyone is wearing the same and there's no media or sponsorship involved. Go to any beach! It's just what women are wearing these days. In a few years it will be legs or boobs that are in fashion again.

On the basis of the title I would have said YANBU, as I thought you meant about not paying a cleaner to clean your house when their advertising is sexist.
But I can't see any issue in what you've described. I would take it as they're saying that using their products it makes cleaning easy and enjoyable.
I can't see why that is a dig at women?
However absolutely boycott them if you like, I've boycotted companies for reasons that others wouldn't agree with.
