To put up a sign asking drivers to slow down because there are baby rabbits around?

We live on a narrow country road and in all honesty drivers go way too fast.

There are baby rabbits in our garden and they keep bounding into the road. I am upset to think they may get run over.

DH says I am being ridiculous.

You can’t unilaterally lower the speed limit of a national speed limit road on a whim - I get that baby rabbits getting run over is a concern but cars going overly slowly on country roads is also dangerous for other road users

If I saw the sign, I would take notice. Not everybody will, but I don’t think it would do any harm either.

Neighbour of ours have a sign warning of children and animals - they have neither . Is that an option

Yes, do it! Some people will slow down. Some people DGAF about wildlife and only care about themselves, and their own small-minded little world, but many people do care. So I am sure many people will slow down.

I think ..not sure..but I think it may be against the law? Years ago a relative put a sign up and police took it down.Not sure why that differs from roadside advertising though

I think in theory it's a great idea. But my expectations of people are so low now I would fully expect some sadistic anti social people driving past to make a point of actually trying to run over a few poor bunnies if you alerted them to them being there.

Years ago someone posted a sign on a road I travel frequently advising that there were baby foxes in the neighbourhood. I slowed down then (and was often rewarded with a glimpse of said baby foxes!) I still slow down in that spot years later, despite a total lack of baby foxes.

You could put up a sign but you'd need to do it 50+ yards either side of your property to give them time to slow down

And I'm guessing you don't own land either side of you to do that.

So impractical I'm guessing
