Tipping workmen?

Is it normal to tip workmen at the end of a job? I'm talking of workmen who are employees of a larger company and have spent a week at our home? Interested to hear whether most people do. Thanks

Absolutely not.

I used to make coffee/snacks if I was in, or leave these if I was out, and listen to what they said they liked so I bought eg a chocolate cake/certain type of drink at the end of the week.

The only workmen I tip are Removals.

I do - we live rurally in an area where it's difficult to source tradesmen- it's really helped secure return visits when necessary.
I also tip furniture delivery men.

No, never occurred to me, unless they do something over and above.

No

No, not a monetary tip. For removal people, I always provide bacon or fried egg sarnies if it’s an early start, and have soft drinks in the fridge for them while they are packing. Always appreciated, I find. For any workman in my home - plumber, electrician, decorator, etc, I always offer a hot drink and give them biscuits if they are going to be there all day. But that’s basic good manners.

I wouldn't tip an electrician/plumber etc. as they probably earn way more than me. I did tip the guys who delivered a fridge freezer up 4 flights of stairs for me.

Sometimes I do. We have a reactive dog and if workmen have been really understanding and kind with him I would tip them, or if they’ve worked past their official finishing time or something similar.
One particular guy went above and beyond at my elderly parent’s house so they got a good tip plus a case of beer.
