We can mange with bin every 2 weeks, which with 4 kids we think is pretty good. We do this by recycling lots.

There has been no colection thjis week though.

Dh rings council- staff shortages.

Bet we dont get a refund on the council tax though!

nowhere to keep any of it, been told to wait though. They tried to say it wasnt out in time, dh had it out 6am when he came iin frommwork, besides its the whole street

I think they should come and get it, they wont take it all next week as they dont take overflow and box already full; recycling plant several miles away

YANBU, but I suspect fortnightly collections have more to do with saving money than with saving the planet.

we had this once when they'd missed a week and then they wouldn't pick up the bin bags we all had next to the wheelie bins (as bins were full).
I emailed my local councillor and complained and they were sorted that day - I work for a council and know that not emptying bins is a massive PR disaster - its practically the one service that everyone can complain about! Your councillor is there to sort stuff like this out for you

I have 4 children, and my bin allowance is half of yours, half a bin per fortnight.

None of our recycling is collected from the door, we have to take it all to bins or the depot.
However, where I live, every community has a recycling depot, and there are paper/glass/tins bins every few streets. I can think of 3 within walking distance of our house.

YAB a bit unreasonable, but the council could improve services too.

YANBU - Grrr! What I find so annoying is how the recycling is OUR problem!

Look, I do my part. I use only reusable nappies, recycle plastic (not collected), glass, paper and tins.

But what annoys me is MASSIVE amount of packaging by the supermarkets. I now dump excessive packaging (after paying for the stuff) on the cashier desk.
