Favourite part of the UK for natural beauty?

Pembrokeshire, the Peak District and the Channel Islands are my favourite spots. Looking to branch out. What are your fave spots in the UK for natural beauty. Really thinking about doing an extended “tour” later in the Summer.

The Outer Hebrides. Just miles of blue water, sandy beaches and very few humans.

The other contender is the flow country. Very different landscape but no humans for miles.

I am biased. Cornwall

The Lake District
Northumberland - you can genuinely go for walks in certain parts and not see another soul all day.

Surprisingly (or maybe not that surprisingly) the Surrey Hills are really very pretty. Also the Sussex South Downs. All that area basically, for rolling hills and forested areas / bluebell woods and tree covered lanes like tunnels. It feels like ancient temperate rainforest in parts. Also, Kent is nice, especially the vineyard areas.

Cotswolds in gorgeous. I love the golden stone houses and the architecture around there.,Devon and Dorset have lovely countryside and coastlines. As does Cornwall (though I don't like the grey stone houses).

We went in the train from London to Edinburgh and what stood out in terms if 'sights from the train' (for me) were two things -

1. The isle of Lindisfarne (Holy Island) which you see from the train going up through Northumberland. Looks really fascinating and unique. I'm sure the whole coastline has loads of Viking history.

2. Berwick-upon-Tweed - looks interesting with its various bridges over what seems to be a gorge and its about as far north as you can go in England, which makes it feel like a bit of a 'last post' type of place.

Oh, and St Andrews in Scotland is nice. The beach there goes as far as the eye can see.

Deprnds what you want really? If you want wild and wet / windy, then head for the Lakes in Cumbria or western Scotland which may well be a cloudy 19 degrees while the text of the U.K. is baking in the 30s!

The isles of Lewis and Harris

I agree with pp about the Scottish Highlands and the area around Glencoe which is breathtaking imo.

Bedruthen Steps beach in Cornwall is a bit like the famous 12 Apostles beach in Victoria, Australia. It's really beautiful. So many amazing beaches in Cornwall.

Loch Lomond, Lakes, Snowdonia

Cheshire countryside for real 'english' country lanes, meadows, canals.
Northumberland for unspoilt coast and wild Upland, see also Scottish Borders which are truly quiet and peaceful.

Eden Valley
Weardale and Teesdale
Shropshire and Herefordshire
Suffolk for beautiful villages, coast and countryside.

The Northumberland coast is better

Could you recommend a village/area?

Am I the only one who read the thread title and thought it was going to be about people's physical appearance. i.e. where in the UK has the lowest uptake of Botox and fillers? 🫣

Opened the thread and was relieved to discover it was about the countryside!

Another vote for Cornwall, but there are a lot of places I haven't visited yet.

Not telling, I don't want it to be clogged up with tourists

I'd start with Barra/Vatersay. But another favourite is the west coast of Lewis. Somewhere like Mangersta. 20 miles down a single track road to get there but it is so beautiful once you do.

Ha! For natural human beauty, I’ve never seen so many good looking people in my life as in Bordeaux. Even the Danes paled in comparison.

Horgabost beach on Harris recently voted Scotland's best. That and Luskentyre on a sunny day is just beautiful.

Another vote for Antrim, cliffs, waterfalls, beaches, views across to Scotland. Choughs, possibly Golden eagles.
