To ask: if you had a four day weekend and a budget of about £600 for flights and accommodation, where would you travel in Europe?

In March. Had a half marathon booked but I’m never going to get to the required fitness level and the thought of it has me dreading running ever again. So I’m going to cancel and go away.

Any recommendations welcome!

Another vote for Barcelona or Pisa.

Would not go to Pisa for four days. You'd be bored stiff.

Direct flights from Bristol. Loads to do in the city or along the coast.

Lisbon is lovely, stay in the old town.

Seville

Flying from Bristol, I'd go to Beziers and stay in Sete.

Málaga is such a lovely city. Loads of amazing restaurants, museums and galleries and there are beaches.

Heaps of cheap flights and one of the few places there will be any proper warmth in mainland Europe.

If it was later in the year I'd say Split or Dubrovnik but a bit chilly in March.

Take the train to Amsterdam and see the tulips at the end of March! It’s one of my favourite cities in the whole world.

It is just a great place to mooch around even if you get a bit of rain. And low stress to go by train and fits in your budget without the hassle of getting to an airport.

Will they be there mid/early march?!

Budapest - only a 2hr flight and we had temps in the twenties at Easter last year, lovely city break

Montenegro, maybe not guaranteed hot beach weather in March, but great to visit for a long weekend and your money goes further.

Munich.

Budapest. Go to the outdoor spa and definitely New York Cafe for breakfast. Easily walkable but also cheap and easy public transport. Ruin bars are fab, lots of cheap walking tours

Seville is lovely. I was the mid-May and it was 38
degrees (bearable because we had access to a pool) so think March temp would be very pleasant.

I'd go to Istanbul. Or Athens.

Budapest! Loads to see and do. Cheaper than lots of other capitals. It's gorgeous.

If you want heat then Seville is one of the top options.

Lisbon from Bristol and when there, take the coast train to Cascais. Lovely mix of city and sea.

We’ve had an early summer break to the Algarve and are already planning a long weekend on the Lisbon coast. Just perfect and I don’t think it can be beaten!

I’ve only got four days 😕 lots of destinations to think about though!

I’m off to Sitges in Spain for 3 nights in September and for flights and a gorgeous apartment it’s costing just over £500! Haven’t been there yet so can’t comment on what it’s like but everyone raves about it. You fly into Barcelona and it’s only about 30 mins from there.

Cinque Terre? Granada? Madrid?

This. I think Lisbon is much nicer than Porto but it's personal preference but I'd definitely go for Portugal. What about Faro which is my favourite place.
