To be so worried? Should I be doing more?

My mum went to a&e on Wednesday with extreme constipation. They did a bowel scan and said she actually had 2 large masses where her ovaries are and that they looked malignant :(. She got admitted to the gynae ward.

They've relooked at her scan and said there’s a third mass in her pelvis. They did the CA125 test which came back negative for ovarian cancer but said it can be a number of any other cancers.

shes been awaiting an MRI since last week. They have a big multidisciplinary meeting every Wednesday. If she doesn’t get her MRI today we will have to wait until next Wednesday to see what’s going on.

she had cancer in 2017 so it’s not looking good is it? She is getting more and more bloated and unwell and I feel like she is just dying in front of me 😭 I’m only 32 I can’t lose my mum, I need her 😭

can I/ should I be doing anything more? I ask every day when I go about the mri but they just say we have to wait.

Just sending you lots of love. All the waiting is the worst. No words of wisdom - just wanted to acknowledge how horrendous it feels to have no control over this sort of thing

Thanks @CinderellaGotOldits horrific isn’t it. I can’t sleep, I feel constantly on edge and want to cry. Keeping it together for my 3 year old but I just feel so shit and like I can’t do anything to help

I remember the waits for scans with my Mum and it was dreadful. Sending support. Sadly, there's not much you can do - I imagine if there's a MDT meeting she'll be on the 2 week pathway and they'll be going as quickly as the can?

Deep breaths, try and remember to eat and drink and take everything one day at a time. I'm so sorry this is happening. I was in the same position at about the same age (my DD was also 3) - I know how all consuming the terror is 💐

Sorry you and your mum are going through this.
My mum had ovarian cancer. Her symptoms were extreme bloating which didn't go down overnight, feeling of a uti but wasn't, it was the fluid in her abdomen pressing on her bladder, reflux again from the fluid pressing her stomach up and a loss of appetite.
CA125 isn't a test for ovarian cancer. It can be raised in patients without cancer and be under 35 in patients with cancer. Mums was 200 at diagnosis, but other patients she got talking to had a normal ca125.
I'd have thought they should mri your mum today given her a and e admission. My mum was an a and e admission. From going in the door to operating was 3 weeks.
