AIBU to jump on the bandwagon and finally get a dual zone air frier? Or was it all a buzz for nothing and shall I stick with my normal oven?

I use my dual zone air fryer daily. I only use my oven now for things that are too large.

I voted yabu for not already having one!

You should get one, I have a dual zone Ninja but actually regret not getting the (Flexi?) with one big drawer that can be divided.

I love mine, we use it pretty much every day. Also easy for the kids (now 12 and 19) to use. I find it cooks the food faster and more efficiently than using the fan oven.

Ninja...brilliant marketing. They do exactly what every other airfryer does four times the price.

It's an airfryer, they haven't been around long enough to judge durability. Like the microwave hardly anyone uses the pre set options. They get to the right temperature, just like 90% of other cheaper airfryers do. So if want an actual ninja go for it.

We've had bog standard ones at home for about 5 years, just getting one slightly bigger to replace one that was still working. Lower wattage version in the camper van. Have thought about getting a duel tray one but the size put me off...you might as well use the oven

We have the flexi drawer. We love it but it's dh who really uses it. He has perfected cooking steak in it. Our large oven is used maybe once a year but we do have a combi microwave and use the oven feature a lot.
I'm tempted to buy the stacking dual drawer as sometimes we just need a bit of extra cooking space.

Just get an ordinary air fryer? I don't get the whole "Ninja" fad.

I recommend getting a Halogen oven (countertop predecessor to the air fryer that’s made of glass) they are fab. Ninja are currently marketing one as the ‘Ninja Crispi’ for an extortionate price but they’re like £40/£50 on amazon! So so much easier to clean. I’ve got a ninja dual zone and it’s a pain in the backside to clean even though I use air fryer liners!

Nope - mines gathering dust in a cupboard. I don’t get the hype personally. Just use your normal oven.

Got one. No regrets. Still use the oven for some stuff, air fryer better and quicker for other stuff. If you have worktop space, do it.

We (family of 5) have the Flexi, I wanted something that would fit a whole chicken but that could also be used to cook two completely different things.

Love it and it is used every single day.

It’s better if you want more room for some things eg cakes puddings casseroles where the two smaller drawers won’t accommodate them. Just gives you more scope.

I bought the dual zone and I really like the idea of cooking things separately, but I find I have never needed to synchronize two totally different times/temps. I would probably get the one you can divide, especially if you want to cook a chicken etc. If you want the dual zones I’d probably opt for the version that is vertical rather than horizontal for kitchen realestate reasons.
Having said that, I use it all the time. I love that I don’t have to wait for it to warm up. You just wham your food in and press go.
Regardless of which one you choose, I also recommend investing in some paper or silicone liners as my kids shoved mine in the dishwasher more than once and it is looking very grotty now.

We use our airfryer most days the only thing that is annoying is just as your getting away from Teflon coated pans along come airfryers that are teflon coated. Also beware of unplugging after use switching off at the mains as they do generate some heat but for cooking salmon, chicken , breaded fish etc its a game changer

Took so long deliberating over it, and then once I had one, never looked back. Ours is used daily for all sorts of things - the teens also use it to cook for themselves.

Not really understanding some of the posts on here about “just get an ordinary air fryer”. What on earth do you think a Ninja is? 🤨

I wouldn’t recommend this one. The draw is so much heavier. The removable divider isn’t as good as having two drawers separately either.

Personally I would stick to Ninja, we had a couple of cheaper ones before that were no where near as good and have used others in holiday rentals and found the same.

They are a godsend. Getting one the right style and size is the most important thing, not the brand. Mine’s a Tower brand, with a viewing window and shelves instead of a basket. I love it.

I spent £200 on mine, I think I’ve used it personally maybe twice in several years.
My partner has used it a few times.
I’m a hob cooker, I don’t even use the oven unless we’re doing a pasta bake/shepherd’s pie etc.
If you use your oven a lot, you’ll love the air fryer.

Edited to add, it did save my arse on Christmas Day.
It was great for stuffing in one drawer and pigs in blankets in the other.
I also cooked the beef joint in there and my partner still tells people about that beef two years later.

We were given the double as a gift, it is brilliant and I love being able to have two things on the go at different times and temperatures. I also find it very easy to clean. We do still use our oven, but only for big baking batches or things like roasts for a bigger group. I think ours was bought on a black friday deal that made it comparable to other brands.
