It's 27 degrees today in London. I'm staying at a Premier Inn. 9th floor. Window doesn't open. Air con is broken. We are here for 3 nights. Reported it on arrival last night. Was told someone would come and fix it. After waiting, no one came. DH went back to reception (they don't have phones in the room!) and reported again. He was told someone had fixed it. So he came back. Guess what - it wasn't fixed! At this point we were 1.5 hours in, it was after 11pm at night, and had young kids with us who had fallen asleep whilst waiting. We had to go to bed and suffer a shit night in stifling heat.
This morning I reported it again. The staff member told me we could move rooms. Great. Except we would need to do the move on our return as we had timed entry tickets for the event we were attending. Explained this to staff who said ok, should be fine. We'd be back at 9pm - made this clear.
So, on arrival back this evening I explained the whole thing again. Only to be told there was no room to move us to!
Long(er) story short, AIBU to want a refund for the 2 nights of our 3 night stay (been told we can move tomorrow). Its fucking disgustingly hot, there's 4 of us squished in to a small room with no opening window, and one (very shit) fan.
I actually want to cry! We are celebrating our first wedding anniversary tomorrow and I just want to go home! But the least I think should be offered is a full refund. I've read stories online from people being refused refunds under the guarantee for spurious reasons. So now I'm sat here hot, cross, and annoyed on other people's behalf!
