Do you worry about lost mail with sensitive information ?
Where do these lost letters end up?

Your details are floating round somewhere?

Do you think solicitors should send out mail that's signed for.?

Just had a solicitors letter go missing. They say they sent it. I never got it. I would of actually preferred to call in and collect or have it emailed, at least I would have received it
Where's it gone? it wasn't travelling far .
Do you worry about lost letters and where they might end up. Is anyone reading them?

Actually fuming about a letter myself..
Chasing ds's trust fund and had forgotten to update change of address. They had put a' security hold 'on the account and written to both the old and new address. It has the account numbers etc on it !how is that making it secure ?? And that's a reputable bank !

Something like a legal document should be sent signed for or tracked delivery.

I think nobody ends up reading the lost ones though, they're just stuck in a machine or a bag in a warehouse somewhere.

What can anyone do with just an account number though? Without proof of identity nobody else would be able to do anything. Even for my own accounts, with a bank card and PIN, I can't withdraw from a savings account without a passport or driving licence.

Yes it's worrying OP.

I opened an account with a new bank at the beginning of the month. They sent out a pin and a card separately. The pin arrived but the card didn't. So I've had to contact them and they've cancelled both card and pin and are sending out replacements - neither of which have arrived yet.

We have a rotten postal service here and my logical brain is saying it's something to do with that. But my worrying brain is doing overtime because I also had issues with another bank supposedly sending out a card which never arrived earlier in the year. I closed my account with that bank because of security worries.

I know it's easy to hanker after the good old days, which in reality also had their own difficulties, but I do wish we still had a reliable and trustworthy mail service

I did that with a letter to HMRC as 'next day, before 13:00, tracked and signed for' and Royal.Mail 'lost' it.
I suspect someone within the Royal Mail stole it, as it had a number of documents and I bet someone thought it contained money.
Royal Mail.gave me £9.00 in stamps as compensation but I still wonder about my letter floating about that contained a lot of personal information.
