Has anyone had surgery for diastasis recti?

I have just been formally diagnosed by GP, they are going to look into surgery. But they aren’t sure if NHS offer this.

Anyone else suffering?

Surgery is a pretty extreme option, have you tried any of the rehab exercises to fix it first? How many fingers is it?
There are loads of videos on YouTube, I recommend "pregnancy and postpartum TV" for exercises. Or go see a physio?

Yes I’ve done a lot of core exercises suitable for diastasis recti and there has been no change.

I haven't had surgery yet need to save up and figure out the logistics of recovery and childcare etc.
I've had diastasis since my first child and they are 11 now so many many years of physio that just can not repair what's broken.

There's lots of groups on Facebook with great info on surgeons and recovery.

Nhs doesn't offer it the people that have managed to get it on the NHS have had to really really fight for it but it's not very common at all.

I had mine done when I had a TT
it would never have been done on the NHS and I was very slim but no exercise was ever changing it
The recovery was brutal

Thank you. Mine is very severely separated and causes back pain, and pain when turning over or getting up. I also have significant apron belly from 3 caesareans. I am not overweight and tried specialised classes for months to try to resolve DR and core exercises at home. I was told by the GP that the DR I have will not be corrected by exercise only surgery.
