cos I swear, he was just cloned from DH.

he looks like him

walks like him

gestures like him

FARTS like him

there is nothing, at all, that is me in him.....NOTHING. (and after I gave birth to him, you would think some of me might have be inherited....)

go see my twins DH and DS2....now in my profile.

My dh and ds are exactly the same too!!!
I had to wait 8 1/2 years till dd came along to have my very own mini-me!

Hassled · 25/06/2008 21:12

Don't panic - your genes will out in the end. My father always felt this - he was tall, blond, and blue eyed but with two short dark children. And then came DS3 - tall, blond, blue eyed and the image of him. You'll just have to wait 20+ years for the grandchildren .

TheArmadillo · 25/06/2008 21:13

mt ds is the same.

He was even born on the same freaking day as his father at the same hospital!

YANBU.

edam · 25/06/2008 21:13

Oh, I know that feeling so well! Although I've never compared dh's and ds's farts as such.

I have so-called dominant genes but ds has his father's eyes/hair/height/body type... the only thing I think he has from me is his skin. Takes after MIL (colouring) and FIL (build).

Keep telling dh we need to have another one so I at least get a shot at having a child who resembles me in some way!

TheArmadillo · 25/06/2008 21:14

that would be the same day 22 years apart btw (just in case I sounded crazy)

edam · 25/06/2008 21:15

My mother has this theory that first-born children are often the spitting image of their fathers, which in evolutionary terms serves to reassure dads and encourage them to stick around.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/06/2008 21:16

DS2 is a mini version of his dad too. His coffee coloured skin and curly hair are the only hints that I bore him.

Psychomum5 · 25/06/2008 21:17

yeah, but he is DC5, and all the others seem to be a mix.....he is DH thro and thro and I am huffy about it!!!

littleboyblue · 25/06/2008 21:18

I looked at your profile. The girls look like you though. (assuming that picture was you?)
Your children are lovely looking

Psychomum5 · 25/06/2008 21:19

in fact tho, DH is the image of his father, and MIL used to feel the same (and still does in fact, as DH is still the image of his dad).

at least FIL is not a hidious monster....

mistypeaks · 25/06/2008 21:19

I heard the same theory edam. Which was of course a huge help when both dd's came out looking the dead spit of DH!!! Neither of them looks like me at all still. But that is fast becoming a comfort!!

TheArmadillo · 25/06/2008 21:20

In dp's family the male line seems to be quite strong, at least personality wise.

Dp is very like his dad in personality (though not in looks) who in turn is very like his dad etc etc.

Maybe I should have factored this in before breeding with him

At least it is fun when ds is being a pain to point out to dp it is ALL HIS FAULT.

We are dreading the teenage years - I witnessed dps and they were not pretty

Psychomum5 · 25/06/2008 21:20

you think my gilrs look like me???

(yes, that is me)

I have always reckoned that they are all a good mix, but then, I guess it IS hard to see yourself so much.......

flubdub · 25/06/2008 21:21

Oh my ds (9weeks) is exactly the same as his Dad! Iv moaned that hes looks bugger all like me too.
Its quite sad really.

GentleOtter · 25/06/2008 21:21

Lol Psychomum....Maybe he has your liver or kidneys ?
We have a little clone here too and even his hair sticks up the same way as his Dad's does in the morning.

seeker · 25/06/2008 21:22

My ds is a clone too. Depressing, isn't it?

My dp was briefly on television recently - and everybody rang us to say that it wasn't dp at all - it was ds in a suit and with lifts in his shoes. Even ds noticed it "Daddy does his hands like me"!

I think your girls are beautiful. That in itself will be a penance for your DH for having strong genes with his sons!!!
One of your daughters has a stronger resemblence to you than the other two . . . hold on . . .

madmuggle · 25/06/2008 21:22

You have a bunch of talented dancers there!

littleboyblue · 25/06/2008 21:22

Yes. They are very pretty.

mistypeaks · 25/06/2008 21:24

holly!

EachPeachPearMum · 25/06/2008 21:24

My DH always complains that dd looks nothing like him- she is a perfect replica of me.

And YOU are gorgeous Mrs!

ManhattanMama · 25/06/2008 21:25

This is a subject very close to my heart...when DH were hypothesising on what DS would look like, I said "No idea as to skin colour, but I'm 100% sure he'll have my dark hair and eyes" - figuring dominant genes were on my side.

So out he pops, with milky white skin (I'm mixed race), blond hair and blue eyes! They gave him to me to cuddle, and I just kept saying "but he completely white! With blond hair! and blue eyes!"

DH thinks it's hilarious.

mistypeaks · 25/06/2008 21:25

And Max is deffo yours!! (I realise you know that )
