Bed by window

Boring thread alert 😂

Help me make up my mind.
dd wants to change her bedroom around including a bigger bed. A small double bed could work well but I wondered if it's weird or inadvisable to place the bed with the headboard in the alcove which would exactly fit a small double. The problem is the radiator is right under the window and the bed would be pushed against it. AIBU to place her bed right by the radiator?

I had that set up when I lived at home. My old room is still set up that way, although with a bigger bed and a cot too now.

Never caused me any issues.

Totally fine as long as the radiator will be permanently off. (I don't heat my bedrooms anyway.)

I wouldn't.
If you would put a bed against a radiator, it reduces the flow of heat around the room, and can make the bed too hot, and conversely a bed under a window can suffer from a cold down draught unless you have long curtains - which are difficult to close if there is a bed against them.

You'd usually want the bed to be a foot or more away from the radiator to let the warm air circulate. Could try with a bit less and see how it goes.

Both my teenagers beds are under the window against the radiator..and they're alive and fine xx

I'd not want a bed against a radiator

At least not completely against it

There needs to be some room
