This is probably idealistic and unrealistic...but I am so sick and tired of the world right now. The constant barrage of injustices towards women and children, minorities and the marginalised. Its frustrating me to tears. Medical misongy is another issue.....I really feel we need to stop. Like the women of Iceland. We all need to just say enough is enough and make the patriarchy wake up to the fact that we are actually the only the reason they are here. I.just don't know how else we can go about it but something needs to change. We can organise, pick a date and just walk out of everything. How can they carry on bearing in mind how many jobs done by women in this country...its got to have an impact....or maybe i am just being crazy.

Women are the only oppressed group who collude in their own oppression. Mostly because they won't just walk away from their children or let them suffer. I'd like to believe otherwise, but I don't think this will ever change.

We need men as well as women to procreate!! Plenty of jobs are primarily done by men. It’s nearly all men who fight on the front line.

The jobs done primarily by men can be done by women if it wasn't for patriarchy. The world is built for men and that includes design of protective gear and equipment to do jobs which could easily be done by women if the equipment was designed to help women not men.

Why do you start your post with such a self deprecating comment. If you have enough anger about it right now then channel that anger into organising something and there will be plenty who will go along with you. Don't wait for someone else to do it. Why don't you contact the organisers in Iceland as a first step?

I did understand. Why are there hardly any women fighting on the front line? We have women in the army but they hardly ever serve in direct combat.

@6ate9 men start wars, so it's on them to commit violence if they choose to. Can't see how it benefits a woman to engage in violent ('front line'?) combat with males.

I'm probably not the best poster to try to engage with about people who choose to be in that industry, I couldn't care any less about it.

Fair enough. I just get fed up of women blaming the “patriarchy” for everything. Women can choose ANY career/job they like. Men are NOT stopping them from doing certain jobs. Women DON’T want those jobs.

Well for starters shall we say child care. The majority of child care falls onto women, how are women realistically able to do a job that includes starting at 5am with no child care available or to do jobs which involves being away for a length of time. These are the kind of societal pressures. In theory women can do anything however until men fully step up and take equal responsibility for children and the home it will put limits on women. (Plus as a woman working a traditional male role i know how fucking difficult it is to get well fitting, comfortable Steel toe cap protective boots that fit women)

Women generally don’t want to do the “traditional” male jobs. It’s very hard labour and men are physically stronger.
