To block GBNews from my parent’s TV?

My parents retired 4 years ago. They’re both in their 60s, healthy, happy, comfortable financially.

Since they’ve retired they have been sucked in by every single thing they say on there. They can spend an entire day sat in front of the TV getting angrier and angrier. It’s to the point that if Starmer comes on the TV, they shout about how he should be killed.

it’s genuinely starting to concern me. You can’t have a rational conversation with them about anything. I miss my parents, how they used to be before all the conspiracy and anger took over.

I’m genuinely tempted to block it from their tv using parental controls and just pretending it’s some weird fault in their telly. They’d not be able to fix it.

They habitually lie that other media and particularly the BBC are not covering stories. Even when the stories are all over the news.

No, my glee that GB News is protecting women and girls is far from disgusting what IS disgusting is anyone having a problem that this channel is reporting on this.

Why on earth would that make me feel uncomfortable. I've worked for 10 years in supporting woman through sexual violence, and don't find their narrative in the least bit helpful.

Shall we start talking high profile sex offenders being housed at the BBC? I take it you no longer watch their channels. Why shouldn't Farage be given a platform?

They are reporting on the news. If you're an advocate against sexual violence, what does it matter to you who reports on those cases?

1. Ban over 60s from using social media
2. Ban all citizens from using social media in 5 years (or sooner if it can be arranged)

Of course it’s wrong for her to remove GB News from her parents tv just as it would be wrong for them to remove all reality programmes from her TV.
That’s the question she asked, not whether they’ve got dementia, whether to call Prevent or the Police.

I think what the BBC did is wrong. I also think Farage, who takes political bribes and platforms convicted domestic abusers, shouldn’t be given free rein of his own tv channel.

Clearing cookies isn't really invading someones privacy though. You don't even need to look at the cookies, just clear them. It's the cookies themselves that are invading the persons privacy. Presumably they know that's what she is doing, I do it as part of general fixing my mum's computer when I visit (I am asked to do this before anyone starts).
But I don't know anyone who thinks cookies are a good thing, it's not like messing with someone's settings.

As a woman I can support who I like. So you're not only trying to control your parents, you're trying to control women's voting choices by shaming them. Not a good look all round.

Good points, your first paragraph nails it, people are soaking it up for a reason, the reason KS had to walk the plank was because he was very well insulated from everyday reality for a lot of people and couldn"t even pretend to understand like Boris did like someone in their first week at acting school.
