I have a 19yr old son who has recently spent time as an inpatient in a psychiatric facility & a 14yr old daughter. I fell asleep watching TV tonight & heard the front door slam at what I guess would be 10pm ish. I assumed my son had gone out. I’ve now come to bed at 11.30, both my kids are not in the house, what do I do now?!

I’ve rung them both & text them both asking where they are - no reply.

I hope they're home by now OP. If I didn't know where my 14 yr old daughter was at gone midnight, I'd ring the police.

Do you have family phone tracking set up?

TheSquareMile · 02/07/2026 00:14

@HappyBunny120

She must have school in the morning.

Have you located her/them, OP?

HappyBunny120 · 02/07/2026 01:04

Thanks for the responses, appreciate it, they walked through the door about 5 mins after I called the police. Two officers came out to speak to them / us & only just left. Long night!

Glad they are home. Why did they leave?

GrantMyWishes · 02/07/2026 02:22

Phew! You must have been very relieved after that OP. I'm glad they're home and all is well, although would be giving them both a rocketing in the morning.

saminamama · 02/07/2026 02:44

What the hell, why did they leave

Peakyblinder18 · 03/07/2026 01:21

Were they watching football with friends?
Glad they're home safely wherever they were @HappyBunny120.
Time to put your foot down big time.
